- You ever hear someone say that something is “stuck in (their) craw?” Yeah, I got a couple this week. One is when my mom talked about the rescued astronauts touching down in the gulf (near me!) and said, “Some good news for once!” And I’m over here thinking, eggs down 11%, gas slightly more, illegal criminals being deported, etc… good news every day!
- She also said that when they went to a friend’s house (whom I have known forever) my mom was so impressed with the “diverse” group of people she always gets together. Yeah, bet not a one of them voted on the right. How diverse could it be? I have to say that I see this ALL the time: libs stay with libs and the righties always make sure they don’t cut them out. Disclaimer: in my experience, this is what I have seen amongst my friend groups. I am sure it is not across the board and I’d never assume it is.
- You see all this doxxing of Tesla owners? I cannot wrap my brain around people who, one day, buy a Tesla because “oh, EVs! I want to save the planet!” then on a dime, “This guy likes Trump? Let’s sell our cars! Screw that guy!” It’s pretty awful that there are legit websites with the names and addresses of Tesla owners and the mouse cursor is shaped like a Molotov cocktail. How did our society get like this? Also, the underlying issue here is not allowing people to make their own choices. Oh no, they bought a car from a guy you suddenly don’t like; whatever will we do?? /eyeroll.
- OK, I think I’m done there. To be honest, I have been trying to stay away from news because it just feels like a waste of time. I picked up a new book that’s about Jimmy Buffet’s life and I am enjoying that. I need fewer annoyances; just need to live my life.
- Yesterday was nice; even if my husband was out of town. I made food for the kids, took the younger two out for frozen yogurt before taking my daughter to meet friends at church. I then watched three old Royal Rumbles because I looked up where the WWE library is currently housed (Peacock). I was in nostalgia heaven. Plus, I am just a simp for the Shield and if they ever reunite, I may have to actually go back to watching Wrestling on the regular. Also, this stupid program won’t let you put an image and continue the numbers? That’s dumb! Shield boys for reference for, you know, posterity.
- I also tried my mead from October. When I bottled it, I wasn’t happy with the smell or the abv according to my tests. I am still not sure it fermented out all the way but it didn’t taste bad. In fact, the three additions in it, ginger, long pepper, and grains of paradise, actually came through in a really unique way. Sort of warm and spicy, with a bit of a tingle on the back end that lingered a little. Might take some of it down to the next beer fest and just offer it to folks there. I know one of our other members is also bringing bottles.
- I ate too much yesterday, it feels like. I had a couple small Dunkin breakfast wraps around 10, then about 3 bites of potato salad after class. I then had a 5 dollar sushi roll from Publix around 4. I partook in a small frozen yogurt with the kids. Later, I ate a few bites of the Publix Cran-sational chicken salad then some strawberries. Nothing I ate was awful for me but I just feel like it was a lot. I’m not sure what I was thinking.
- I realized the other day that it had been a long time since I participated in the Monday Music Moves Me bloghop, but mostly because I was listening to the same old stuff. But since new Sleep Token came out – and I’ve been listening to it ad nauseum – I may need to share it next Monday. It’s SO good. ::heart eyes::
- On Friday we are going to meet some friends to watch March Madness. We’ve done it a few times with this specific group because the guy hosting is a huge fan. I am not really, though I enjoy the sport. Used to be a huge NBA fan but the game has changed too much. So I’ll go into Friday with a loose bracket and pick the teams the way a lot of women do: by colors and mascots. LOL. I hate doing anything like “most women” but, there ya go.
- I got a ton accomplished yesterday while in my office hours so today, I don’t have as much to grade. It’s supposed to rain between 9 and 11, then get sunny. I have to hop on the stationary for 10 miles but other than that, my plan is to clean. I know my husband notices and appreciates when I tidy up in his absence, so I shall.
- We might head up to Moultrie to visit a a brewery there that we’d discussed collaborating with. For a while, we tried to get other people on the committee to pin down a time we could all go but everyone is so busy we just haven’t. So screw it; we will go and see how that happens. We don’t have any other Sunday plans so might as well.
- I’m putting off the bike this morning, but not sure why. I know once it’s done I’ll be happy.
- OK, I did it: 10 miles. Then I got motivated to clean my bathroom so that’s all squeaky clean now. Go me!

congrats on the completion of the bike ride and a clean bathroom :-)!!
Agree with everything you said about the state of politics and the “divide” if you will that permeates society. It is sick what people are doing to Teslas and yes, thinking that a man who is doing so much to highlight and eliminate massive fraud that impacts every American is bad is beyond me! I am super invested in the news; I wish I didn’t care but I do so I read many news articles. I’m glad you got a lot done and your March Madness plans sound nice. It’s kinda good to not really care is one conclusion I’ve come to with regard to sports teams :). Getting super worked up over something that ultimately does not impact one’s life is not healthy! Enjoy your Friday and weekend!
Agreed; I used to be invested in teams and it was too difficult to lose so if I stay neutral I can just enjoy it.
Agree with your 1, 2, and 3. I don’t understand the domestic terrorist behaviors – what good does it do to vandalize people’s property? Government waste is no secret. I may not agree with everything going on (flip flopping with tarrifs, casinos on the Gaza strip?), but the cleanup is long overdue. The Tren de Aragua had taken over an entire hotel near Denver. I don’t miss them 🙂
As I’ve gotten older, I find I don’t care about sports as much as I used to. Uniforms and mascots it is!
Right; I don’t agree with everything Trump does but some of this general clean-up has been in need. I can’t understand everyone’s anger over things that don’t even seem important. That’s what gets me. Of course, I blame the internet. LOL.
