Good morning everyone! How’s everyone doing after the Superbowl? I canceled my classes while at a party, assuming I would not feel well. Turns out I am just fine but hey, free day. I’m sitting outside, listening to the birds and, well, the lawn people all around. But I am getting my work done.

OK, let’s see, what did we do? Friday, I took my son’s car to the body shop for a quick analysis of the damage and then I scheduled the work for this week. Ash and I went to Midtown Caboose for burgers then on our way home, my battery light came on my dash, which was worrisome. The other lights like VSA and whatnot started flashing on and off so we planned to go home to get better shoes, leave it running, then take it back to the shop and walk home. But it looked a bit more dire so I pulled right into the shop and just then, it started smoking! Turned out to be my alternator but cost far less than I had assumed. So that was that; Ash and I ran up to Deep to try a couple new beers but they were, sadly, not very good. So we just came back home. Dakota had a dance so she was getting ready.

Luckily, I worked it out with another mom that I would take and she would pick up, so I got to get comfy and watch a movie, though I cannot remember what we watched.

Saturday, I took Isaac to work early, came home and did some stuff around the house, took Dakota to her game at 11:30, went home to get some food, then we went back to get Isaac, drop Dakota off at a party, then we went out to a friend’s son’s party. He was turning five and it was nice to see that group of folks we know who all live in the same neighborhood. We stood around and watched their coop as well and walked away with eggs! Always nice, given the prices these days.

Once home, I was just exhausted. Ash watched a movie and I saw maybe half, total – beginning and end.

Sunday was BUSY! I got motivated to clean all the little things no one sees: magic erasered all the cabinets and the spots on the doors where people always put their hands, swept and washed floors, dusted SO many things, vacuumed rugs, did all the laundry, tightened screws where loose. All that kind of stuff. I was super productive. Ash and Isaac started tearing up the old deck. It’s something we’ve wanted to do for a while because it’s rotting away in places and hoarding water underneath. So it’s a good starting place.

We rested in the afternoon… just kidding. I couldn’t sit; I was too on a roll. I worked right up until we left for a Superbowl party. No pics; it was kind of chaotic. But fun. And I certainly like the outcome! I can’t stand when the same team keeps winning and Mahomes is a whiny baby. Oh, and I have BEEN over the whole Kelce/Swift BS. So, yay. At least the NFL managed to ward off the encroaching idea that his thing is rigged…for now anyway.

We just had breakfast and plan to have some leftover pulled pork and green beans for lunch. We successfully completed one week of changed habits: no weekday drinking (ok, no drinking M-Th) and we are working out more and eating more greens. Here’s to change!
