1. What area of your life feels like you’re stuck in a Groundhog’s Day loop, doing the same thing over and over? Does it bother you or is that just how life is in this particular season?
Hmm, I mean, day to day follows a very similar pattern in general. I can’t really say there’s something that is on repeat. I guess our eating habits. We used to be a lot better with our eating windows and less drinking but as of Monday, we changed that so in that aspect, we got out of the Groundhog Day spiral!
2. Something that makes your heart skip a beat?
Any time I get startled by something gives me a literal skip. I think it was one day last week when I didn’t hear a kid come into the kitchen and I turned around to a fright. If we are talking figuratively, I can’t answer that one either. Ha! These are hard.
3. Do you wear your heart on your sleeve or are you more of a closed book? Elaborate.
I’m typically pretty closed; I try to be quiet or reserved about how I feel, though I’ve gotten better as I’ve aged. My husband always knows how I feel regardless so it doesn’t matter.
4. According to Prevention Magazine, these are 25 of the best foods for heart health-
wild salmon, sardines, liver, walnuts, almonds, chia seeds, oatmeal, blueberries, coffee, red wine, green tea, soy milk, dark chocolate, raisins, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, cauliflower, sweet potatoes, whole grains, apples, oranges, grapefruit, avocado, avocado oil, olive oil
Which five on the list do you include in your diet most often? Are there any foods on the list you simply cannot abide?
Most eaten: blueberries, coffee, olive oil, brussels, and avocado. I like all those but I tend not to really partake in many sardines, soy milk, or whole grains. Also, why the heck is any soy product on this list?? Just… no.
5. What was the last piece of furniture you bought? Is there a piece of furniture you need/want to purchase this year?
Technically, WE did not buy it. My parents wanted to gift us a pull out couch to replace our old crappy one down in the other living room. It’s really nice and changes the space a lot. They have not slept on it just yet, as we bought it while they were visiting last and it was delivered after. I can’t think of any others we need this year. Isaac wants a full size bedframe. We got Elliot a new mattress, thinking that was what was broken but it turned out to be the box spring so now we have an extra full mattress. So, I guess I need a box spring and a bed frame!
6. Insert your own random thought here.
After a pretty lame Monday (didn’t feel great and my brain was lagging) this week has been good. We, as noted, have been eating better, cutting off early, and have made it a point to only drink on weekends. So far, Ash and I have both had two great nights of sleep. I woke up today feeling motivated; I am ready to bang out some classes today then move on with my day. We also began watching that Reacher show, even though we swore off TV for now. It actually moves along pretty quickly so that’s good. My problem with shows is they drag them out and it feels like a waste of time.
I don’t know if it is just coincidental but it’s warm now too – unseasonably for February – but no complaints from me. I even laid out in the sun for about ten minutes yesterday. I feel recharged!

The list is a couple years old and I’m with you on soy. Especially women. I’ve had a dry January and hubs has had a mostly dry. We are keeping it up now for the most part. I scare easily too. Have a great day!
My husband seems to also always know how am I feeling without me saying a word. We plan to watch Reacher. We need to finish watching Bosch. You should look that one up when you finish Reacher. Your new couch is pretty!
Never heard of that one but yes, perhaps!
My hub use to know how I always was feeling. He use to ask, “What is wrong?” and of course, I replied, “Nothing.” Which meant something. Well, I have had more drinks than normally and I am blaming it on the weather!
We loved Reacher!! It has been warm here, too, which is lovely! I wore birkenstocks to work yesterday and today!
We just finished season one; I think we’ll start on the next but I am always suspect of where they can go from there. I’m also averse to TV shows but that one, to be fair, moved along pretty quickly. And yes, I wore sandals yesterday!
