OK y’all, it’s been an interesting week so here goes:
Monday, took these girls skating (low light photo; sorry)
Then we had a fire before the really cold weather set in:
Tuesday evening, it did indeed begin to snow:
And accumulate:
And the next morning it looked like this:
This is just ice, I know, but we NEVER get this here:
We took them to the playground with the hill I always thought would be good for sledding:
By Thursday, it was starting to melt some; Isaac and I scraped it from outside cars and played some ball with it:
- This week has been weird, with the kids only having school on Tuesday and even then, got out one hour early. I can’t wait for them to be back to normal next week.
- Roads seem clear now but they still called no school today due to ice. We went out last night and the major roads are definitely drivable.
- We had a meeting for brew club, which was fun, but Ash and I both got a touch of the food poisoning. I feel much better today but he’s still in bed.
- My plan for the day is to get work work done – grading, making lectures – and prep for tomorrow’s beer festival in town. I am mostly ready but have to print and laminate signs.
- With the temps what they are, I don’t know when, if at all, the kids will have soccer/reffing. They typically say no games when it’s under 40 but I can tell you that it’s low enough humidity that even 20s doesn’t feel all that cold. We took a short walk yesterday and I was barely cold. But being Florida, and overly cautious, I am guessing no game. It’s week four and she has played exactly one and a half games due to weather. Sigh.
