Since I managed a random Tuesday post with my brain bits for the week, let’s do this one!
- Our Halloween has no true tradition. When the kids were very small, we didn’t do much. I remember taking Elliot one time to my friend’s house, who did a big thing. Then we skipped a couple years and then when Isaac was old enough, we went back. The little pumpkin is Elliot and then the next one is also at their place.
Over the years we have walked with a few different groups of people but one thing we did for a long time was family costumes. Here are a couple instances:

2. Favorite fall tradition is by far, the pumpkin patch. Here’s some pics from over the years at our local (and best) one:

3. Milky Way; Skittles.
4. I would love to host a party but with kids we always trick or treated. This year, my younger 2 have plans with friends and we will walk with ours, who usually do a thing. My daughter is opting out of that one though so we’ll just be along for the ride. They do a lighted trailer, etc.
5. Again, trick or treat. We live on a fairly busy road so we don’t get anyone anyway. I would love to hand out candy but it’s not in the cards for us.
6. I honestly don’t understand the whole “do it on another day” thing. Yeah, it’s a school night but it’s special. Do it on the day or not at all.
7. Oh yeah we definitely decorate!

8. Since we don’t have any people come to the house, I simply don’t buy any. And this year, I am glad! Have you seen the prices?!? But once the kids get home, I typically take my mom tax of Almond Joys and Milky Ways and as they work through the good stuff, we’ll snack on the Snickers and Tootsie rolls, reluctantly.
9. Again, we don’t hand out. We are typically gone form about 6-8; as noted, we go with a friend of ours and he’s kind of strict about where they go and for how long. I hate the rigidity but hey, he hosts so…
10. I never do anything special for dinner that day. When we used to go to friends’ houses, they always did chili, which made sense if it was cold. And some years have been. This year, not so much.

Yup- chili is on our menu tonight 🙂 Yes candy prices like everything else are out of control- sigghhh- Happy Halloween!
The family costumes are great! So creative and neat to get everyone to cooperate :). Love the pumpkin patch tradition. We only went sporadically. Your decor is cute! Our neighborhood is bursting at the seam with trick or treaters so I always buy a lot. I bought candy for the first time at Sam´s Club- maybe saved a little? Happy Halloween!
Your family costumes are great! We will see a lot of family costumes tonight in our neighborhood. I love all of the pumpkin patch photos — y’all truly look happy – not fake smile happy :-). I thought about making chili tonight, but it is too hot. The last two years, we froze sitting outside for 3 hours. We won’t this year.
