FAVORITES THIS WEEK:
This sunset we were gifted with on the way to Target the other night:
The weather got a little cooler and it always prompts my kids to go outside more:
My new inflatable buddy is awesome:
We had our first fire of the season, in the old crappy fire pit. Can’t wait to finish up the new one! We plan to work on it Friday.
- Oh thank the Lord – it was cool out this morning! I’m talking 59. I know for some of y’all that’s warm but for Floridians, this is great. I know it has to do with Milton cutting across the state but hey, I’ll take a cool sunny day.
- This week has been a doozy, with conferencing all day and trying to complete my other work in an around that. Imagine: 65 students, each getting a 10 minute zoom call. I tried to squeeze most into T-TH, but I had 4 on Monday and now, with kids who missed, 4 on Friday. It’s been overwhelming to say the least.
- On Wednesday, Ash and I did a very technical 8 miler; it was a trail so, sandy, gravelly, and pretty steep. Not as steep as we’re used to (1000 ft +) but we hit almost 500. It was a good maintenance ride before Saturday! They call it a 35 but apparently it’s only 32. No complaints! My biking jersey arrived yesterday as well.
- Ash and I are thinking we’ll go to this place called Blu Halo for our anniversary. Coincidentally, my son just got a job there. He has to start back over as a dishwasher but he thinks he’ll move up pretty quickly. I’ve eaten brunch there but never dinner so we shall see how it is. It’s pretty bougie.
- My middle boy hurt his ankle in the soccer game last night. It doesn’t seem bruised and it’s definitely not the bone but man was he a mess this morning. Not one to let kids stay home on a whim, we iced it then put heat on, took ibuprofen and I put some essential oils on it that typically work. But boy was he mad. I hate sending my kids off to school angry but at the same time, there are larger lessons to be learned here! I think it’s minor in general.

Cute inflatable! Fifty nine does seem nice and cool! I love it when we have temps in the 50´s in the morning (which is what we´ve had all week except a couple days in the 40´s). I hope your son´s ankle is ok. Soccer injuries are so prevalent. It´s a great sport, but man, it is a contact sport! Have a great weekend!
