- It’s…sort of cool out. Not the dry cool I’m looking/anxiously waiting for but it’s not bad. A little hint of humidity still floating around but I have the sliding door open and I can hear my owl buddies out there calling to each other. I have a lot to do this morning so this helps.
- The reason I have a lot to do is that after a couple hours of working yesterday, Ash got the itch and we went out to begin our fire pit project. First we went to a local garden center and found stones we liked but they weren’t quite the right price. So we went to Home Depot and that was where we did find what we needed. We went to lunch then back to load up stones, concrete, another shovel and a tamper.
- Once we got home, we went ahead and dug the hole but did not pour concrete, as we were already pretty beat from that work! I’ll share the photos below.
- You ever start reading a book and you’re so into it you’d rather be doing that than work? That’s me this morning. I’m rereading a series called Marriage Games by CD Reiss and wow, I remember liking it years ago but it’s still so good. I pretty much just want to read. I might even bring my kindle to work and while my students are doing a self-revision, read it. Though, with so much grading still to be done, I feel like that would be irresponsible.
- I’m getting a little greedy with time at home; so much that on days I have to go to campus, I’m sometimes annoyed. So I have to take a step back and remind myself to be ever so grateful that I am afforded this ability to mostly work from home. I mean, it’s SO much more preferable than the work I was doing. Long hours, frustration, and stress don’t sit right with me, that’s for sure.
