Friday Five – One week down

  1. Well, we made it to the final day of the first week of school (for the kids). Elliot didn’t feel too good this morning but I think he stayed up too late. Lessons learned! My daughter has another practice run before tryouts next week then she’s going to be gone until Sunday at the lake house I had aforementioned a few weeks ago. (Technically, people in this family have 3 houses on this lake but either way, she got invited for the whole weekend.) I am mostly done with the things I had to do this week before classes start Monday, though I do have to submit grades for one of my schools. Always something!
  2. Did a two mile run this morning and despite some minimal knee pain, I held up ok. I have to keep doing it even with whatever band in there is clicking. I am down 2 pounds this week so, there’s that! And I’ll ruin it all by eating hibachi later; lol.
  3. I feel pretty positive today after the work I accomplished yesterday in my courses. Maybe I am a little depressed and/or out of sorts with the new schedule and all but I am getting the hang of it. This weekend should be nice for some relaxing: we have a baby shower/bbq to attend tomorrow afternoon and then we spend from about 10-8 on Sunday in Gainesville for an event with their homebrew club.
  4. My oldest turns 17 at the end of the month but my husband already bought his gift: a 55 inch tv. And, oh yay, we get to mount it today. I am sure it’ll be…and interesting project, though not the first time we have mounted a TV.
  5. OK, I have some work to get done; hope everyone has a great weekend! See ya Monday.

  1. Congrats on the weight loss! And that’s with muscle weighing more than fat (it does). When I lost 45 lbs giving up sugar/carbs it made me feel REALLY good. I understand that. Have a great day! πŸ’™

  2. I remember someone saying that the hardest miles are the first one and the last one – so a 2-mile run is the hardest distance πŸ˜‰

It’s been so hot lately, that I’ve just been doing “maintenance” runs until things cool down. I hope your knee feels better.
