- I have SO many things I am thinking about. I told Ash this morning that my plan for these two days before vacation is that whenever I think about something I have to do – and if I can do it – then I will, right in that moment. For example, this morning I changed batteries in one of the outdoor cameras, then I took boxes to the corner for the claw. Then I pulled out some travel sized things. It kind of sucks being at work when there’s much to do so I started looking at accessories we can pick up for our August 10th brew fest. Yes, much in the future but it made me feel like I was getting ahead.
- I don’t know why I stress about packing; the things I typically forget are always easily purchased. I started Monday night, laying out clothes, other items, looking at the suitcase and trying to figure out the smartest way to Tetris everything in. I know it’ll all be fine, especially since we all bring one carry-on and we can shove some extra stuff in. I probably should make some kind of extensive checklist though.
- Speaking of that: I tied up loose ends too: calling to reschedule an appointment, making sure the pool people know we’re gone and to check water levels, getting the neighbors on board to get our mail. Kids are mowing tomorrow and when we get back, it’s going to be long! I hope it rains while we’re gone though so the grass doesn’t get too dry.
- I have been eating twice a day lately but mostly keto, so I feel like this might have jump-started my body into losing weight again. I was probably just taking in too many carbs at once. Later today we are having bison and asparagus and is it weird that I’m excited about it?
- I walked at 10 and it wasn’t as hot as anticipated. Ash and I walked four miles around 6ish last night and while it was a bit warm at first, it clouded up, then rained, so it wasn’t bad. Glad I got my steps in.
- I was suddenly struck with an intense longing for the time when I was working from home. Even though there was the weight of the worrisome aspects of Covid were all around, I was much happier. Isn’t that odd? It just hit me out of nowhere when I was grading a paper and listening to Fleetwood Mac. I’m a sucker for nostalgia.
- OK, time to get my work done. One more post out of me tomorrow then I’m outta town!
When is your last day at this job? I hope you have a fun vacation!
I don’t have a last day yet; once I get offered another, I can put in my 2 weeks.
Have a great trip!
I dunno, bison and asparagus sounds pretty exciting to me too 🙂
Good luck getting all things done before vacation!
