OK, I am probably being too dramatic about that. It’s not bad sitting in my office, catching up on stuff and applying for other jobs. It’s just uncomfortable. Especially when the senior editor woman is here. Honestly, I hold nothing against the big boss; he’s been nothing but nice, honest, and understanding.
ANYWAY, I left Friday around 12:30 and we’d planned to brew but through a series of unfortunate events, we did not. For one, the mill kept sticking, which I should have taken as an omen. Then the chiller came, which meant we’d need to pitch the yeast right away, but it did not show up as Amazon told me it would. So we did not, in fact, brew. I ran to the store then my parents got into town. We chatted a while, ate a bit of a snack, then once kids got home, we ended up going to dinner. That was a nice evening.
The next morning, Ash and I were out the door by 7 to go run the Springtime race. I did the 5k and he, the 10k. I love that this one takes place at his building for work so we get to go inside and stay warm and/or use the bathrooms. My 5k felt good, though it was slower than I would have liked. Ash did about what he’d excepted so it was a success. They did have beer (we were worried that one of these years, that would just stop.) Got home and started working on lunch. I made burgers and fries and we all visited until it was time to head back downtown for Dakota’s dance performance. It was very nice and my oldest even joined us. He came on his own and left before we did but still; that was a good thing he did. My middle was running a slight fever that day and didn’t feel well at all (though was better by Sunday afternoon.)
That evening we basically just watched basketball and hung around. Sunday morning, Ash woke up with the idea to go to breakfast, a thing we never do. I mean, ever. We don’t eat breakfast anymore. So we took the younger two to Lofty Pursuits (oldest had to work) and my parents met us there. It was nice. Then we went to Costco and they left from there. Ash and I worked on house junk and I did laundry then around one, went to a brewery to try some new stuff they’d released. So that was nice and then we went home and watched movies, hung around with the kids. I made them dinner and finished the laundry and all in all, a very enjoyable weekend.
Today, I feel pretty good about getting stuff done. I have quite a bit to catch up on, such as calling various places, looking for more jobs, and getting my slides for brew club done.

Freebie week and for some reason, this song has been stuck in my head lately. I do look forward to feeling more settled because when I am, that’s when I can really enjoy music.
Sometimes if I can change my mind-set, my whole day improves. Could you look at these weird and uncomfortable days in the office as a freebie? You are getting paid while looking for a job – yay! I know it wouldn’t be easy because of the things you have mentioned. The senior editor doesn’t sound like a very nice person!!
She’s not a very nice person at all but it takes all kinds I guess. And yes, I am trying to be as positive as I can be!
You’re such a busy lady always. I hope the best for you in your new job pursuit. Hopefully, your next gig will be the greatest ever! Thanks for joining the 4M party, my dear. Have a boogietastic week!
Hoping you have good luck with your job hunt and quickly. Maybe it’s a good omen that your manager is allowing you to search from work. Alana ramblinwitham
