1. Has March come in like a lion where you live? If not a lion then what animal would you use to describe the weather in your area this first week of March? Does the weather affect your emotions? When did you last feel ‘under the weather’?
I don’t know; it was warm and now it is rainy and cool again. Honestly, I am so wrapped up in finishing Session and making sure my money goes back to normal after the next online session, that I am not even barely paying attention to the weather… or the world around me! Normally around this time it is starting to warm up but we’ll still see glimpses of cool; how would I liken that to an animal? Don’t know. YES the weather totally affects my emotions and I hate it. If I don’t see the sun some, I get really down. I was last sick back in August so I guess it’s been a while.
2. Do you know what your name means? Does the meaning of your name fit with your personality? Do you like your name? If you have children did you consider the meaning of their names before choosing them?
I guess my name means “clear” or “bright”, which I don’t think suits me at all. And no, I have never liked it. As far as my kids go, we mostly went with names we liked. My oldest is named after my brother in law (Elliot), for our middle and youngest we just liked the names (Isaac and Dakota).
3. It’s National Sauce Month…what’s your favorite sauce? Last thing you ate that used a sauce?
I honestly think I could take or leave sauces. I guess I use some yum yum sauce at hibachi but on, say, fries, I would maybe use mayo. Of course I do put my sushi in soy sauce with wasabi. Last thing I ate with a sauce would be dipping my Papa John’s pizza crust into their garlic butter. Yum.
4. Something you’ve seen, tasted, done lately that you’d describe as ‘awesome sauce’?
Hmm, life’s been pretty effing stressful and icky lately (ok, I am overblowing that) but maybe I’ll say…the collaborative brew at Lake Tribe. I was excited about the level of involvement they let us have. I literally got the put the “salts” (the ingredients we add to change the water profile) into the mash tun. They release the beer Friday so I’m excited to taste it.
5. What kinds of things do you love to collect?
I used to love pens and notebooks but these days, I am much more minimalist so I really only collect beer cans.
6. Insert your own random thought here.
Damn, I feel like I was JUST here! We didn’t leave until about 7:40 last night which is late, but not as late as my friend over in Senate journals. They didn’t head out until 11! And it was her birthday; sad.
We have our annual March potluck today; there are only 21 people in my office but six of us have March birthdays so, depending on which year, we celebrate those plus either the start or end of Session. It should be nice. I made this recipe and I hope it’s good. It sounds good. I’m hoping they get through these 59 bills quickly today because a friend of ours is calling Bingo at Ology and I’d really like to go. I need some kind of break. I went home last night, had one beer, and attempted to watch a movie but kept falling asleep, even though I didn’t think I was that tired. Alas, I could not stay awake to save my life!
As a follow up to all my money stresses, I feel like I have a handle on that worry now. I’ve done what I can to make sure SNHU gives me at least one section after this 8 week term and then I reached out to folks I used to teach for and filled out interest forms for summer/fall terms. I don’t want to have more than two online jobs on top of this but as this economy crumbles more and more and my oldest gets closer to moving out, I need to be making more money anyway. We have to get him off the ground! He takes the SAT this morning and that put it into perspective for me as well. We don’t have all that long!
Isaac’s DC trip seems to be going well. They did the major things yesterday such as the Holocaust museum, Arlington, Korean War memorial, and the spy museum. At night, they did a Potomac river dinner/dancing cruise that looked pretty awesome. I am waiting for a reply text about that. I want him to be the kid who will go out and dance with girls but he’s not that guy; he’s quiet and I know girls probably asked him but he’s also me in that he won’t take the risk. Oh well. All in due time.
OK, three more days of Session; we can do this. The good news? They put the budget on the table yesterday at 11:48, which means they can vote on it by 11:48 Friday morning. This bodes well, people. They could be outta here by 12-1! Say a little prayer. LOL.

I hope things move along quickly for you and you get out early. There is a lot to know when it comes to brewing beer and sounds like an interesting hobby. Enjoy your potluck today!
The first place I saw mayo on fries is the Netherlands. Me? Condiments are gross, but everybody has different tastes…
I had a feeling the “awesome sauce” would have something to do with beer brewing 🙂
What a cool field trip. So much to see and do in DC. I’ve never been, but plan to go soon.
Sorry you haven’t liked your name. I haven’t had their garlic butter in years but I always loved it. Hope you like the beer. Beer cans is an interesting collection.
