New things

I thought I’d detail some of the stuff I’ve begun or will be doing soon. Maybe they’re boring but it’s also a good way for me to keep track!

  1. Walk stairs. I finally remembered to bring a pair of tennis shoes to the office so I can climb stairs and/or walk around the capitol complex. I look like an idiot in semi-formal work attire and sneakers but oh well; I’m exercising. I’ve done it the past 27 days – 16 flights!
  2. Train for the steinholding contest at Oktoberfest. OK OK, I know we aren’t going until September 2025 but I am still going to begin training. I brought my five pound weight, which is the exact weight of a stein full of beer. If we train up, maybe we can win. I wonder if there are age divisions…
  3. Copy all my old blog entries. This is one I, admittedly, already began. Because I don’t pay for a higher plan on WordPress, I cannot just export all old content. So as I sit here in my office, I am literally copying entry by entry into a word doc. It’s tedious but I’m in need of a backup, as I’d like to delete all the old stuff from here.
  4. Stretch more! I looked into the stretching routine that David Goggins uses and I mean, he’s the GOAT so it’s gotta be good.
  5. I might have mentioned collecting posters from displate.com. I love the one I got and now I am trying to rack up a lot of them to put in my office. I need to get creative with wall placement though but I am super excited because I have a sort of awkwardly long, rectangular office with one boring unadorned wall.
  6. Pushups. My husband is up to 52 a day and I’m over here with one regular and about 14 girl pushups. (On your knees). I am really trying to get in the habit of it; just add one more per day.
  7. Writing. I was not feeling like doing much of anything today and I had a lot of bills and then voila – the writing bug hit me and I worked on some old pieces. It feels good to be creative again!

    1. I have added a plank most mornings. I am adding 30 seconds as I am able. I spend time stretching after a jog since it does help. I am sure the stein pushups will shape your arms!
