- I left on time, I swear I did! Got in my car and with the rain, decided I shouldn’t drive it, since I have yet to get the cracked windshield fixed. Moved my junk to Elliot’s vehicle and left only 5 minutes later, but then I got halfway to work and realized I didn’t have my badge. Without that I can’t get into my parking lot or the door to the building. Sigh. I turned around and went back, then about 5 mins later, got a call from my daughter saying the bus hadn’t come so (and because I was already suspect of her riding it in the DRIVING rain) I turned around in some of the worst rain I’ve ever experienced and picked her up and took her to school. So although I left at 7:09, I got to work at 8:30.
- Luckily, I had a great 3 days off so I can’t complain about this series of events this morning. Friday night, even though I didn’t get home until almost 7, I got to relax. I am sure we watched a movie but Lord help me if I can remember!
- Saturday morning, my daughter had a 9 am soccer game and right after, I got my middle and we went for a haircut, which was sorely needed. He and I hit the grocery store afterwards and then went home to do house things like picking up the yard after last Tuesday’s crazy windstorm. Despite a little complaining on the part of my children, everyone got motivated: Isaac took down the Xmas lights while the other raked and took sticks to the street; Ash set up a new server for pictures, etc…; and I worked to get all the remaining Christmas boxes ready for storage. We went to the hardware store for wood and finished making a base level in the upper storage area for said bins. Once we got all that done, I made steak, masked potatoes, and corn.
- We opened up the new grill I bought at Christmas, only to find it severely underpowered. I think something is wrong with it so I’ve been going back and forth with Coleman support (with a guy named Andrew whose real name is probably Sanesh or something; you know, outsourcing) and they might replace it. I purchased it on Amazon though so we’ll see. I can’t see any flames and it takes 10 mins to get to only 300. Our old one takes 5 to get to 500!
- We ended up using the old grill and the food was fantastic. Took Elliot to work then drank some much deserved beer, since we’d done so much work!
- Sunday was about the same. Ash did a ride with a friend (about 17 miles) and I went to the store, started laundry. We watched football and Dakota had a couple friends over. We watched some movies but again, can I remember them? Oh, one was Pod Generation.
- Monday I was so thankful to not have to go to work! I eased into the day and then ran (as I also did Sunday) and then cleaned up some more in the house. Went and got a pedicure, that I have needed for so long! It was nice, to be honest. Made a late lunch for the fam (spaghetti) and I had a huge salad with leftover steak. We watched Dream Scenario (by far the best movie I’ve seen lately, aside from Holdovers) and the Okja, which was fine but too message-y.
- So yeah, here we are: 9 am Tuesday and I already can’t wait to go to lunch and then go home. LOL. I have to say – knock on wood – it’s been a pretty calm Session. Lots of members are up for reelection and they are also campaigning for – ahem – other people, so they aren’t around much Only downfall? No one has sent us any Chik-fil-a or donuts. We usually get them more than once a week! Oh well; I definitely don’t need it.
Isn’t it nice how one “extra” day can get so much caught up.
Interesting commute – ha!
Good luck with that grill.
How could you say no to Chik-Fil-A or donuts?
