- The southeast is getting a bad storm right now. Schools are closed in the panhandle, parts of Georgia and I heartell, even Virginia. All government and city offices are closed… except mine. It’s the first day of Session and by the laws of the Florida Constitution, we have to begin.
- So far, it’s mostly been wind. In fact, my car took a small branch and my windshield is busted. To be fair, it had a dime-sized crack already so I am sure that didn’t help. I took my husband’s car to work, put mine in the garage, and moved the third to a safer part of the yard.
- I guess I am not too worried up here, in a very safe building. But let’s hope it’s not too bad in my part of town. The rest of my family is hunkered down at home with the exception of my oldest, who now has a track record of riding out storms at his friend’s house, with other friends. I don’t exactly feel great about it but I have also been through a lot of hurricanes and this isn’t one so…
- Ash and I went to see The Iron Claw last night and it was good, though not as good as I was hoping it would be. Sometimes I feel like biopics ought to have just been documentaries. But I will say: Zac Efron nailed the role. He was really good, considering I never really thought much of him as an actor prior to this.
- It’s gonna be a long day, thinking about all the people off work and here we are, watching the legislators begin their 60 days and waiting. Just waiting until 6:45. Sigh.
- Have you heard of this site called “displate”? They make metal posters and they are really neat. I dropped money on one this morning but I want to buy so many, to adorn my office walls. I guess it’ll be a slow collecting process, at about 50 bucks a piece.
- Well, that’s it for now. Have to find ways to make the time pass. At least at 10 I can watch these fools start their session.
