MMMM + Where am I?

Between the crushing weight of a lengthy to-do list and the realization that this is the last work week before the Thanksgiving week, I am all kinds of discombobulated this morning.

The three day weekend went about as well as could be expected so I should be grateful. We had brew club Thursday night and I was absolutely dreading it because we no longer want to be on the executive committee but no one else seems to want to step up. However, the current president (who doesn’t do anything) did cop to the fact he’s been a lazy sack and stepped up to discuss this. Some of the newer people helped us wrap up so maybe they will take over some of these roles. I didn’t hate doing it; I just don’t want to keep being the two people who do EVERYTHING.

Friday, I got right up and started on some house cleaning things and then, errands. We went to Cracker Barrel with the kids and then by 2:30, got picked up by our friends for some brewery-hopping. We went to Amicus, Oyster City, and Deep, then finished up at Smitty’s. I ate and drank way too late for me; I’m not used to that anymore. And I didn’t sleep well at all. But I didn’t wake up feeling bad so that’s good! And we had a really fun time and as a busy adult, those moments really fill in all the crappy gaps.

Saturday morning I got a two mile run in then took Elliot to Goodwill for some work shirts, then Dakota and I went to Hobby Lobby and Publix. It was a pretty low-key day; I did the normal Sunday laundry, ate a good salad, watched FSU beat Miami, took a four mile walk, and even went to bed kind of early! (9:45ish.)

Sunday was Dakota and Ash’s long run – 6 miles – and while I was going to go with them out to their trail, I decided to just stay around the neighborhood. I was only running 3 anyway. It was not a bad run at all, though some weird old guy tried to stop and talk to me twice, but I cannot imagine one single thing he needed to tell me that would be important. I don’t know him and there was no point in stopping my forward momentum. UGH; people. This has happened to me before and I just don’t get it. Leave me alone when I am running!

We mostly just watched football. Elliot worked his second shift at the restaurant – 6.5 hours even! He said the waitstaff shared their tips with him because he got the dishes back out so quickly and efficiently. It might just be dishwashing but I am proud of him. I’ll be even happier when his paychecks start rolling in!

This morning, I am just out of sorts, as Ash is out of town until Thursday, we have winter soccer starting up, a field trip Wednesday, and just… a lot of stuff. I have to whittle down my editing queue too. With that, let’s get onto the music!

The theme is “food, family, and friendship” and I am finding this one kind of difficult!

Instead of a song, I am picking this montage of Publix holiday commercials because they make me cry.

  1. I said to myself, I’ll watch maybe a couple of minutes, and 10 minutes in, I’m still enjoying the clips. My favorites so far? The salt and pepper shakers, the decorations that ate dinner, and the health care worker (although you kind of knew the ending seconds in). Great idea. Alana ramblinwitham
