- Since Veteran’s Day will be observed tomorrow, I am 100% sure I will not be blogging. No, I’ll be taking back my time and working in the house, before going to breweries of course. LOL. A friend of ours organized our own brew bus, of sorts, and his wife (who doesn’t drink) is driving us all around. Finally getting to go to the new place, Amicus, and it should be a fun time. What’s interesting is we’ve done this before with this group of people, who we really only see for this event and our Christmas party, but they’re cool!
- The fair was fantastic. We got to ride all the things we wanted to, ate garbage food (OK, it wasn’t that bad: burgers, nachos, chicken on a stick, fries and tots, and ice cream, respectively), and I enjoyed just being with my two younger kids, who had pure fun. We could tell they did and that, as a parent, is very rewarding.
- We have brew club tonight and the whole thing is imploding. We should have never let the guy who is president run anything. Well, he doesn’t actually do anything so you know how that goes: it’s like a group project in that one person ends up doing it all and that person is my husband. And me, of course, since we’re a team. And all that does is disillusion said people. I’m literally JUST supposed to be publications, which is to say: emails and Facebook invites. But I seem to have picked up carting all the equipment to the meetings, washing all the serving stuff, AND serving during meetings. It’s sad that this club may be falling apart but there’s not enough other people who care and we’re sick of dragging everyone along. Sigh. It’s something that has stressed us constantly and I honestly don’t know how to fix it.
- Today feels weird; like things are hanging on a very thin thread. I can’t really describe it more than that; perhaps it’s due to tomorrow being a day off so I am anxious to be done with today. Perhaps it is just the impending holidays in general and all that. I just know I feel sort of jittery, jumpy, like I am stressed and can’t fix it. I just had to force myself to breathe deeply and then I put on some music while I work. Maybe this will help.
- I don’t know how many people these Reps think work in this office but 3 dozen donuts? Stop sending us trash food, people, please. Luckily, I am not hungry today or else I’d eat another donut and my weekly quota has been met, as I have had 2 already. Seriously, I love my job but hate that we always have garbage food given to us. And I know that sounds weird but I… AM weird.
People bring junk to us all of the time, too. One time a man in our congregation brought us a big basket of fresh apples and on another occasion, a woman brought us a bag of apples. In both cases, they were all gone in an hour or so! I wish we had more “fruit bringers.”
HA – the garbage food.
We have several bags of leftover Halloween candy at work that no one wants at their house. We put it out for the students and instructors who wander in and out, but it’s always calling.
Enjoy your day off!
Trash food! My favorite!
