MMMM + Low-key weekend that somehow felt busier

I’m sipping my coffee in the quiet of my office; only 3 of us are here so far. Besides the 20 minutes I get first thing in the morning, this is the best time of day. I didn’t sleep very well or for very long but I woke up feeling rested, which makes no sense but hey, not complaining.

The weekend was good. I did indeed go home at 2 Friday and got to work on my to-do list. Little things I’d been meaning to do like wash sheets and clean kegs and make the lasagna. Dakota had a friend over and then I took Isaac to his haircut and to get shoes, which we did not find, sadly. Elliot came home briefly before going to the football game with friends. Finally, around 9:30, Ash came home from his week-long conference. It was certainly nice to be back to normal!

The next morning was cool; I eased into the morning and 3 of us did runs. Isaac’s game was at 11 (they won) and then we mostly just watched football and bad movies and drank some beer. I recommend Chopping Mall from the 80s, if you’re looking for a cheesy horror-esque movie. It wasn’t scary but it was a little gory. Later in the evening, we took a walk, since the weather has been so nice.

Sunday morning was about the same; Dakota and Ash ran their long for the week (3.5 miles) and I worked on the pool some after hitting the store early. I made tacos and we watched football. I can’t really sit for all that long so I did my laundry and puttered around the house too. Took about a 4 mile walk in the evening and went to bed!

It’s only 48 this morning, which is about right for this time of year but the weather widget on my computer said it’s a record low. I guess it’s supposed to rain Wednesday and the temps will be 60s/70s. Ugh. Isaac has soccer tryouts for the middle school team today through Wednesday so maybe it won’t be that bad. Poor kid; he goes to school all day, then tryouts from 4-5:30 and then he has his regular club practice from 7-8:30. He’s gonna be tired!

Since it’s a freebie week, all I am going to do is link you to the type of station I have been listening to a lot in the mornings. It’s so relaxing!

  1. I like the music you’re listening to. I’ve taken to listening to old Muzak and Seeburg tapes (of which there are a ton on YouTube). They’re good to fall asleep to as well.

  2. So my Mom was into jazz because Dad would dance with her to this kind of music even at home. My brother & I would giggle behind the big sofa chair sneakin’ a peek! Ahhh, the good ol’ days!!! Thank you for making me think of such warm wonderful thoughts! Great job my friend. Loved it! Have a great day. Sorry I’m late… I had a wake to go too…. so sad! My daughter-in-law’s dad passed.

  3. I have a feeling my Monday comment never came through – I was having trouble signing into WordPress. Today, the icon looks ghosted out but it is working so I will try again. This music is so soothing. I needed that Monday. I’m going to listen to a little of it today, too. Alana ramblinwitham
