Traffic was insane this morning but I made it; only a few mins late. I was one of only 3 people here anyway and whereas no one was on the calendar Monday for being out, now four are. You wake up on Monday and say, ‘Is it really worth it today?” I feel that!
ANYWAY, let’s go back. I got off work at 3:30 Friday and went straight home to make dinner. Early, I know, but it worked out so both Elliot and Dakota could go to friends’ houses. Ash did his fantasy football recap video with his friend, then we had a couple beers and watched a movie, but Lord help me if I could remember which one!
Saturday morning, three of us got up and got runs in and watched some premier league before leaving around 9:45 for Thomasville. Isaac’s first game was at 11 and their team got destroyed, sadly. The crazy part is that his team IS good; they’ve played together a long time now. But these other teams were simply better. We had Sonny’s in between games then Ash and Dakota went home and I stayed for the 2 pm game. Soon as I got home though, I had to grab Dakota and head to the Hub. We have an organization here named the Tallahassee Beer Society and they were hosting an event for their 6th birthday. We got in for free because we donated a keg of our beer.
It was a fun party; unlimited samples of a lot of local-ish beers and we got to simply hang out. It was Tim’s two ciders, our red, Mike’s rye IPA and our shitty club marzen that didn’t turn out well at all. We made a joke of it and called it Tuscaloosa Trash and no one knows it was ours. Tim got other people to serve too so we could just hang out. Dakota and her friends ran around and had a good time petting dogs. I ended up talking to one of the women from Amicus (see previous posts for complaints) who turns out to be the mom of one of Dakota’s friends who has literally been to my house before. Guess I have to stop badmouthing them now that I’ve met everyone and they do mean well. It’s still not a “women-owned” brewery. It’s four couples! Be honest, folks.
Luckily I woke up Sunday feeling good because Isaac had one more game, at 8. It’s about a 40 minute drive up there so it was indeed an early morning. Got home around 10:30 and headed to Costco because I was not feeling like cooking and their chicken alfredo is a great meal in that situation! Then it was all football and laundry and cleaning and packing. Ash has a conference this week, which means I’ll be BUSY. I told my daughter that I’d try to do enough fun stuff that it’ll go quickly and we can get back to normal soon enough.
So yeah, good weekend and it was packed full of activity. That always makes for a relaxing Monday once I get to the office. It’s nice to be able to sit in a quiet room and while I may not be alone, it’s alone enough here, as everyone works diligently.

OK this week’s theme is about masks or disguises and here’s the first song that came to mind, as the one line goes, “…wearing a mask of false bravado”
Cool choice, a song with lyrics that work that I didn’t even think about! Have a boogietastic week, darlin’! xo
Sounds like you had a decent weekend. I love the song you chose!
I haven’t heard this song in ages and, in fact, I had forgotten all about it. Nice choice. Busy weekend. Alana ramblinwitham
Nice chill song choice. I enjoyed listening while blasting from the past.
Another busy weekend for you. Nice to get some rest in at work π
