Friday Five – Longest week ever, new outlooks, Eff this full moon

  1. Seriously, I don’t know why but this entire week has felt more like three. In fact, multiple co-workers felt time moving slowly too. Subsequently, we have all felt really tired too. I know I have been ridiculously laggy this week. I do blame that full moon – which is today – and can it go away already? I have been so irritable too so, bye bye moon!
  2. I’m the only one in the office because the other two early birds are out today. It’s kind of nice. I get to use the break room all by myself and I’m playing music, though I doubt that ever is loud enough to bother anyone. I’m pretty far back in my office anyway.
  3. I just did my budget and had a minor panic attack until I realized what I did. I like to look ahead at what my credit card payment will be (we have one account but separate cards and we pay everything off at the end of each month) and I didn’t sort transactions by card # and was looking at both mine and my husband’s payments. Thank God it wasn’t what I thought! Looking ahead to Christmas, I am trying to both save money aside and budget. Especially since Elliot can get presents again (I’ve talked about this before; a couple Xmases ago, he forfeited big gifts for about 1.5 years in lieu of getting an expensive PC.) My kids have already been giving me ideas (gym membership for a year, Stanley [this is the big new thing now eh?], large amounts of protein powder, Lululemon pants). And that’s just two of my kids! Sigh. Big kids cost more.
  4. That little worrisome thing made me have a much better outlook on the day and the upcoming months, admittedly. Even though I am exhibiting true introvert/anxious behaviour right now, as I have a draft that needed an ed2 sitting in my queue and I am afraid to look at what I got wrong. Sometimes I AM that person, afraid to look, afraid to make the phone call, etc. Time to buck up though.
  5. Well, I have been at work for two hours and 15 minutes and still, time is moving at an infinitely slow pace. I have resigned myself to this fact and will suck it up and try to get through until about 3:30. Then I shall enjoy my weekend!
