I created my Wednesday post and had it all ready to go, then never even published it. That’s ok; I’ll do one today and move on.

Had my second cataract surgery yesterday and I feel like it went better than the first, in terms of how the eye felt after. It was also somehow quicker but that could just be timing in the waiting area before. I checked in at 7:35, got called back ten minutes later, and I was back in the car at 8:50. So fast! I sat around the house until about noon then went to Publix and the pool store.

Once everyone was home, we went out to Isaac’s meet, which is the farthest one at a half hour drive. He did better on this one than he has been, so that was good. He ran at about a 7 min/mile pace. We went out for pizza after and had a nice night, even if it did put the kids a little later for bedtime.

This morning I had my follow-up and all looks good. I am still adjusting to having to wear readers for anything close, like computer work and seeing my phone/tablet. I bought 2.00s and they are almost too good, so I got 1.25 and those aren’t quite good enough. I might return them and go for 1.50 and see. In some ways it is good I can’t see because it definitely makes me stop even trying to look at my phone at stop lights. It’s kind of disorienting though at the computer because straight on, everything looks fine but outside a certain radius it gets weird. Sigh.

I got into work this morning and two things: realized I somehow forgot to put on deodorant and my work laptop is messed up. It will connect to the intranet but won’t open anything. IT came in and tried but then ended up taking it so I can’t even do work right now. I am grading papers and whatnot but work work will have to wait. Coworkers are trying to get me to leave after this meeting they have scheduled but then I just feel bad doing so. I’ll stick around and maybe read through some training manuals. It’s a good use of my time. And who knows; laptop could come back any time.
