- Well, it’s not looking good with this storm. We are definitely going to get it and it’s probably going to be a cat 3. I am leaving at noon to begin battening down the hatches and just prepping. I am not “worried” but I am trying to be proactive and ready. I’ve been through a lot of storms in my lifetime as a Floridian.
- Today is also my son’s 16th birthday and he’s mad at me because I told him, originally, he could have friends over but we changed our minds because, well, liability. I don’t need other peoples’ kids riding out a storm at my house. Now he thinks he’s going somewhere else and I am uncomfortable with that. No, all people in my immediate family stay home!
- Maybe my husband isn’t wrong about moving elsewhere, though I guarantee that once we get wherever else, something will be annoying about that place too.
- In the afternoon yesterday, one of our senior editors sent a training draft to us 3 basic editors and said to get it to her by the end of today. Ha! For one, both the other editors were out yesterday (and one is out all week), for two, it’s 85 PAGES LONG, and for three, we are all distracted by this impending storm. Are you kidding? So I emailed this morning asking for more time and she seemed reluctant but said by the end of the next day we have work. Given all the x-factors here, that seems pretty ridiculous. Ugh.
- OK, I am heading out to prep. Wish us luck!
Baton down the hatches! My brother had a place in Naples, so we pretty much get used to this. Much luck though I don’t think you’ll need it.
Woops, My brother HAS a place in Naples. It didn’t get swept away!
Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.
Happy birthday to your son. Be careful; I’ll be praying for you and yours.
Please keep us posted (when you can)! Be careful. I vote for keeping your family home :-).
