MMMM + Finally, productivity!

Oof, I was tired today. I probably shouldn’t have taken that allergy pill before bed. Anyway, the weekend:

Friday I left work around 4 and then decided to take Dakota up to the Verizon store for a phone issue (that we didn’t solve) but that’s ok. I will. I then ordered pizzas for the 4 of us – older was at a friend’s – and then we basically just ate pizza and drank beer. I am sure we watched something on tv but Lord knows I can’t remember. Oh! We’ve been working through the good Marvel movies so we are on iron Man 2, which isn’t great but better than some of the new crap!

Saturday I got up and eased into the morning but then got to work. Having been sick, I was behind on a good many things. But I cleaned up, washed towels and blankets, logged a bunch of beer cans I was behind on, then Ash and I finished assembling the triple kegerator tower. We then ran errands to return Walmart stuff, got a few Costco things, then went into Academy for a new canopy. I went to the store then made steak, mashed potatoes, and corn. In the afternoon, I puttered around on stuff but we had plans at 7. A friend had invited us to a game night. It was just three couples and the hostess and then a bunch of kids, so Dakota was there.

Didn’t get home too awful late but I had a bad incident in the morning. It started by bumping my head on the shower door when I got up to pee at 6, but then I nearly fell in because the seat was up. And I can tell you this: I was the last one to use that toilet before we left so I know a boy used my bathroom. But, here’s the kicker: ours flushes funny and if you don’t hold it down, it will clog. So it was in that state when I used it in the dark and then I clogged it even worse. Sigh. Not how I wanted my Sunday to begin!

I should have gotten more done in the morning but I didn’t. Ash slept in then we had to head out; a friend of ours who we’ve known a long time was finally getting married. (They had literally been dating for 18years.) It wasn’t a huge thing; just a little ceremony wrapped into the end of a church service, but it was nice. Then they had a meal and cake in the fellowship hall. That was good; church covered dish lunches are always tasty; thanks old ladies who volunteer! LOL. (No offense to any old ladies reading this who cook for church, of course. It’s always good food.)

In the afternoon I did laundry, took Isaac to get shirts, then took a nap that was both delightful and odd. I woke up all disoriented. But I still did a lot. Went to the store in the afternoon and we tried to unclog the toilet with no luck. Buying a snake today so, fingers crossed.

Around 6 Ash and I took a pretty long walk. One mile with Dakota then four additional. I felt really good about that. I needed it too, since I have not been running. Though I did lose a good five pounds during my illness because I simply didn’t have much appetite. I still don’t but I have been eating. I just haven’t been hungry.

Today I have a draft to edit and I am tying up loose ends on online courses. Leaving at 4 and buying the toilet snake then have to take kids various places. I forget how crazy the fall semester is. Ugh. I will say, the last couple days we have had a cool breeze. It’s still hot af here but the breeze has been a delightful surprise. I know we are a long ways off from what constitutes fall here but there is hope in the air!

OK, songs about animals. I am sure I can come up with something!

OK this first one is from some weird viral video back when the internet was still fun. It’s kind of a hoke; my next songs are legit.

  1. How do you get a “few Costco things?” We buy out the store when we go in there. You need to teach the boys to put the seat down. I loved Ask Alice and a Horse with No Name.

  2. I agree with Joyce above – how did you get a “few” Costco things?? I really really hate sitting on a toilet if someone has left the seat up . . .in the dark, etc. That would have made me grumpy 🙂

  3. “Llama Llama Duck” is wacky funny song which helped to lighten my mood this afternoon. 🙂 I’ve nearly fallen into the toilet like that before. It scares me too death and I’m ready to murder someone. lol That only happens when we’ve had a certain guest to stay with us and the said guest doesn’t visit anymore. Not because for that reason, though. lol Thanks for joining the party. Have a boogietastic week!

  4. Llama Llama Duck has my future all figured out for me. I hope I don’t turn into a duck, either living or rubber. But on the bright side, if someone leaves the toilet seat up, it won’t bother me. Alana ramblinwitham

    1. LoveLlama Llama Duck. I am happy to see White Rabbit here…great song. Myex always left the seat up and argued with me about putting it down. When I almost fell into it one night, I had it! My current fiance puts the seat down always!!
