Wednesday ‘Podge – back to work for me

1. August 8th is National Cat Day. Do you own a cat? Are you a ‘cat person’? Your favorite ‘famous’ cat?

No, not really. I am allergic to them (i.e. if I go into a home with one, I don’t even need to see it to know there is one) and they generally bother me. I guess the first famous cat that came to mind is Garfield.

2. Cat nap-copycat-scaredy cat-curiosity killed the cat-cat got your tongue-like herding cats…which cat phrase applies to your life in some way currently? Explain.

I’d have to say Cat Nap because I need one! I am exhausted from vacation, silly as that sounds.

3. What’s your favorite or most- often-made one pot meal?

Hmm, I don’t think there are any one-pot meals I make but I do make these Southern green beans in the same pot you cook the bacon in.

4. What do you wish you’d placed in a time capsule fifteen years ago?

These are hard questions today! I can’t honestly think of anything. Maybe some of Elliot’s baby toys just so I can remember.

5. Your favorite hour of the day? Tell us why.

Probably the first one I am up. I like being up before anyone else and ease into the morning with my coffee and some quiet.

6. Insert your own random thought here.

I have been away from work since July 28th and when I was walking up this morning, it felt entirely foreign to be doing so. I kept having this odd thought: did I really used to walk all this way into this building and go to my office? It’s weird but true. It just seemed like such a long time ago. I realize it’s not that much time but still.

I know that after a couple days back at work it’ll feel like the norm again but for now, it’s just odd. Doesn’t help that I have a headache but at least it’s quiet in here. Have another training doc to work on but I’d rather be reading and per our hostess’s question, I am reading a book called We Sold Our Souls about a 90s rock band who apparently made a deal with the devil but when they did, their singer basically sold them out and took everything from them but one woman is trying to get revenge. Sounds kind of dumb, I know, but it’s actually not bad.

  1. I enjoy when I first get up too, go straight to the coffee pot and then enjoy a time of quiet and the Word. Really gets my day off to a good start.

  2. It’s taking me longer and longer to recuperate after a vacation or anything that is out of the ordinary. Thankful to finally snap back, though. Favorite baby toys would be a fun thing to add to a time capsule. Hope the rest of your week goes smoothly.
