Thursday 13 –

  1. I’m wondering if the turtle we keep seeing in front of our gate is living under the deck. The deck is only about a foot off the ground and a major source of anxiety for my husband because he can’t see what’s under there. This is fair; we had a taller deck in the old house and you could totally look under it. This one is just hidden. I have seen a racoon come out of there before so who knows? Box turtle buddy may be living there too!
  2. The week is moving right along and I feel like this is good. I am sad that it’s my kids’ last week at camp for the summer but not upset at all that after Friday I don’t have take or pick them up at funky times. I am still baffled as to why I didn’t sign my daughter up for next week but since we are leaving on vacation at the end, I guess my reasoning was that they could chill at home. It does make my week a whole lot easier though.
  3. We had Saturday plans but we backed out (for various reasons I won’t explain) so now, we have loose plans to hang out with our neighbors. They’re notoriously unreliable so we’ll see if that’s true.
  4. Friday night we’re going to our favorite tap house for a tap takeover by 903 Brewers, which have some great beers! We got to sample one early last night because we know the owners. It’s called “Snacks on a Plane”; LOL. I have still never seen that movie, Snakes on a Plane but I love this pun.
  5. I just texted my friends and made a plan to have sushi in literally three weeks. These days, we have to plan this far out! It’s in-between coming back from vacation and when the kids go back to school. You think we moms are busy now? Wait until school and sports fire back up.
  6. Monday I’m taking my car in to get a problem fixed, one I’ve had for a looong time. Basically, Honda told me I needed both radiator fans replaced. Then a friend who owns an auto shop said only one. Well, I got that done and it seemed to work. The problem is that it will overheat, but only under certain conditions: very hot day and I’ve been in traffic a while. And even then, it only starts to go towards the H; it has never gotten to the radiator erupting place. But I feel like I ought to just go get it done so I don’t ever worry about it. But when the issue only really comes up 2-3 months out of the year – and not during every outing – it’s hard to remember.
  7. I also signed my consent paperwork for my upcoming eye surgery! I may have mentioned I have a cataract (probably formed due to steroid use; asthma) and I am getting it removed mid-August. Both excited about it and dreading it. I hear the recovery is pretty fast and it will be nice to not have this constant blur in that eye and be able to drive at night again. It was so bad that the headlights were a burst of light so bad I was really not good at driving.
  8. We leave for vacation next week and already, my husband has mapped out next year’s trip! Fly to Tucson then drive our way back through California and a northerly route, hitting Denver, Kansas City, etc. We want to avoid Texas, since we’ve done that a few times. Though I see he’s taking us through Nashville, which we’ve done too but I am guessing there’s a brewery there he wants to go to.
  9. You guys see the hate towards the new Jason Aldean song? He’s not my fave country singer but he does have some good songs I’ve liked in the past. The song basically talks about all the crazy stuff that happens in big cities with rioting and looting and of course, the liberal media is all about saying that’s racist. I mean, not wanting your store robbed and burned seems like a no-brainer. It’s so silly that this is the wacky mixed-up we live in now. It’s baffling.
  10. I am ready for the weekend, let me tell you. I feel so behind on house work!
  11. Having Mexican for lunch today and few things make me as happy as that, to be honest.
  12. Well, I didn’t get to 13 but oh well!
