Wednesday ‘Podge – Nothing is ever simple

1. Is your life simple? Elaborate.

Eh, in some ways, I have simplified things so it is a bit streamlined. However, with three kids and a house and full-time work, nothing is every truly simple.

2. What simple pleasure are you are currently enjoying?

A good song coming on the radio, morning coffee, early morning runs, rabbits in the yard.

3. Travel by plane or go on a cruise? walk or ride a bike? swim or ski? ocean or mountains?

I hate flying and I’ve never been on a cruise. I prefer a walk. I prefer swimming. Ocean all day, baby!

4. What’s the last thing you bought online that you really loved?

My new phone! The Pixel 6a is awesome. I upgrade from the 4a and I am indeed liking it a lot. I am debating whether to put the pop socket on though. It’s useful but also, gets in the way if it’s in my pocket.

5. What’s your ‘back in my day we__________’ story?

LOL I feel like I have a lot of these. Back in my day, we used to download music on Napster! We had to check the phone line before getting on the internet! We didn’t have cell phones to text our moms to come get us! We actually had to go inside banks! We had to develop film! We ate what was on our plates or we didn’t eat! There’s literally so many.

6. Insert your own random thought here.

This week is so weird with my adjusted time schedule (8:15-5:15 instead of 7:30-4 or 4:30) to pick up my son after work so I’m just off. I was actually in one of those rare really good moods yesterday in the morning; motivated, ahead on work, feeling creative. Then we had lunch and I was blah. Then I got home after irritating traffic and I found I just had an attitude and everything annoyed me. My poor husband; he does not deserve the shade I threw his way.

Today I am feeling ok if not just a little stressed about getting things done. I made myself get up about 15 minutes early and I got some junk put away in the house and organized a little. With my parents coming to hang with the kids the days we’re gone, I want to at least be tidy. I plan to vacuum the pool tonight and finish cleaning, etc. I am ready to get out of town, not gonna lie. Work isn’t stressful but we have had those trainings and I got another one today and while they are really helpful, it gives me anxiety!

  1. Hope things calm down with the new schedule for you and your anxiety eases! I got a kick out of your back in the day list. So true. Here’s hoping the rest of this week goes well for you!

  2. I’m glad you’ve got a getaway planned. We’ve had our grandchildren for the past week+ while the parents get the new house unpacked and we are so tired lol. But we loved every minute! So good for everyone. Going in to a bank-yes! My bank has the weirdest hours now and no drive thru anymore. I do everything online but occasionally you do need to deal with an actual person.

  3. haha yes I forgot about having to check the phone line before getting on the internet! And my daughter was just fascinated – and so puzzled! – by “old fashioned” cameras with 35mm film. LOL Glad you’ve got a little getaway planned and I hope the new schedule settles down and you can destress a bit! Have a great week!

  4. Enjoyed your answers. I was so excited when digital cameras came out…I didn’t waste a lot of money on developing film where only a few pictures turned out. Hope you find a good routine.
