- I had the weirdest dream last night. I was vacuuming the pool – just removing dirt from the bottom; so satisfying – but then I suddenly realized I’d walked away and left the hose running, pumping water from the pool into the shed, which was carpeted in the dream. Then I was back to vacuuming around the perimeter with my son and as we went around the side of the pool the water disappeared and bags of wrapped Christmas present appeared and my husband was there with a clipboard checking off things we bought but my son was watching and I kept saying how we shouldn’t ruin the surprise. How the heck did I get from pool vacuuming to gifts??
- I only work three days this week because Ash and I are seeing Blink-182 in Atlanta on Thursday. I am kind of excited about it but also, hate traveling. I know that’s whiny but ugh; a roughly four hour car ride? No thanks. It should be fun though. A friend of ours and his wife are also going so we plan to at least have a meal with them. Friday we’re going to breweries and we come home Saturday. My parents will be with the kids but are staying through Sunday. Means my weekend is spoken for but should be nice.
- Ash and I always have a fun time on these little weekend getaways, especially as we try new breweries. That’s kind of our thing. We’ll probably eat and drink way too much though! Although, I was really happy to have Monday as a keto day. I brought a salad to the office with all kinds of good stuff in it, along with a cheese stick, pork rinds, and some jerky. My body was thankful for the good food.
- I’m feeling particularly good today; music sounds betters, my body isn’t sore, and I am motivated. Love these kinds of days!
- We watched a movie form 2010 the other day called The Newest Pledge, about this frat house that has a baby dropped on their front porch. It’s quite silly but it wasn’t too bad. There was an actor in it who was impossibly good-looking but he barely did any other movies. How odd. I still do recommend it though, for decent humor.
- We went over the practice draft as a team yesterday, as mentioned, and it was really eye-opening and gave me a lot to study as we get closer to drafting season. See, my office gets the Member’s requests starting in August and then we write and edit through Fall, before Session starts in January. During Session, we just rewrite and make Amendments.
- I changed my work schedule this week to amend for my middle child’s camp work schedule. So instead of 7:30-3:30, no lunch, I’m doing 8:15-5:15 with a lunch and I hate the traffic at these later times, as well as being in this office any longer than need be, given that during the busy times, I’m sometimes here 11-12 hours.
- OK, time to get some work done and then, onto lunch.
Have fun at the concert! I agree, I don’t like having to travel far for “fun”, but it usually ends up being worth it.
Cleaning the pool leads to Christmas presents in July – must be some deep meaning there, lol!
Enjoy your weekend away!
