1. What’s one thing you’re excited about in the coming month?
Oh man, I have to pick just one? Also, what the heck happened to my font? It just randomly changed. Ok, if I have to go with one, we leave for our ten day vacation later in the month.
Atlanta–>Chicago–>Milwaukee–>Toledo (OK, Perrysburg)–>Cincinnati (King’s Island)–>Charlotte–>Atlanta –>Home
2. What was your life like when you were ten years old?
Pretty good; I had a lot of friends, I did well in school, and I liked my house and family. I would say life at 10 was a peak childhood time.
3. What’s something from your childhood you still enjoy today?
The beach. I grew up in South Florida and we went often. I still love it!
4. What state (that you haven’t been to) do you most want to visit? Tell us why.
Let’s see; maybe Colorado? I feel like it might be a cool place to explore.
5. Do you like to drive? Tell us how you learned to drive.
I do enjoy it, though not as much as I used to. My mom mostly taught me, since my dad was a notoriously angry driver, but I think she did a good job. I feel like I am a good driver; maybe not as calm as I should be but there are a lot of bad drivers out there that just make me mad.
6. Insert your own random thought here.
I feel sort of blah today; not physically. Just sort of in-between. Just finished up a set of classes, have a couple starting, then we just have a lot going on. The roofers come tomorrow to begin work and then that means we have to start paying it off! It’s really hot this week and I’m super aware of not complaining about it (though it doesn’t bother me all that much) because whenever I do, my entire family wonders why we still live in Florida. They blame me but it’s not that simple. Ash and I have good jobs here and we’re settled. Not trying to up and move!
We’re touring the state archives today because a coworkers decided we needed a field trip. I guess it’ll be pretty interesting, since I have not ever been. The building is literally right behind where we work.
The good thing is that this weekend, we are super busy Saturday but then we have 3 days to do whatever. Ash is golfing Saturday morning, we’re going out to Monticello for fireworks that evening, then the next 3 days I plan to make his birthday dinner and we’ll brew. I pretty much expect to just hang out in the pool and drink beer!

That is quite the road trip, but I’m sure will be a lot of fun. My oldest daughter is moving to Cincy as I type and while I’ve been to the city before I’ve never been to King’s Island. They will only be there one year, but maybe we’ll get to the park on a visit to see them. Have a wonderful relaxing holiday weekend. Enjoy your float!
The state archives actually sound quite interesting!
Your multi-state trip sounds fun also.
And I agree, 10 was probably a peak childhood time for me, too.
Is your office closed on both Monday and Tuesday? If so, I’m jealous! I think the archives sounds interesting! We’ve been working on ours at the church and it is interesting to read things from years ago and realize how much has changed.
Yes! So we (the House) got Monday off a while ago but then DeSantis gave all state employees the four day weekend.
Your multi-state trip sounds like fun! Hope you’ll have time to spend seeing all the things you want to see!
I love road trips – have fun!
Sounds like a fun trip. Colorado is on my list too. How was the field trip?
