Wednesday ‘Podge – Summer means storms here

1. Hello Summer! In the northern hemisphere anyway. What’s something on your summer bucket list? Do you have an actual summer bucket list? If not, use your hypothetical list.

Hmm, not that it is an actual summer-like plan but I do need to paint my oldest’s room. Co-workers are like, “He’s 16, make him do it,” but if you’ve met my son, you know it would be painful. I will try to get him involved but he is a total whiner.

2. What for you is the defining scent of summer?

There’s a smell I can’t describe when it’s late summer and the sounds are all buggy and the sun is setting… something about that time of day has a smell. Can I describe it? Nope.

3. What’s a (music, food, wine, or flower) festival happening in your part of the country that you would like to attend if tickets/travel/timing was no object?

I can’t honestly think of any!

4. Apparently a military whistle blower claims the US has a UFO retrieval program. What say you? Do you believe aliens are out there?

I can believe it. It’s rather narcissistic to think we might be the only life forms in this entire, vast universe.

5. Besides your wedding day and the birthdays of any children you may have, what are three of your top experiences in life?

These are tough questions today! I will go with: swimming in a Mexican cenote, ziplining in Hawaii, and seeing Iron Maiden.

6. Insert your own random thought here.

It’s currently pouring rain, complete with lightning and thunder. We managed to avoid storms yesterday, which was nice. But now it’s back to icky weather and it’s giving me a headache. Ash and I went to see The Flash last night and thought I thought it would be no good, it was surprisingly fun and touching.

Tonight we have a meeting but before then my middle has a sports physical and a haircut. I’ll be driving all over town so here’s hoping this weather gives me a little bit of a break!

  1. We’ve had a lot of rainy weather here too with storms and wind and we are so ready for some actual sunny summer weather. It’s supposed to be like this all week but hoping by the weekend it clears out. We finally got some plants for the porches today. Wore my rain boots and rain jacket but at least it wasn’t crowded lol. It was hard to pick just three memorable experiences so I went with whatever came to mind. I’m super picky about paint so maybe he can just do the fetching and cleaning up and leave the painting to you : ) Have a nice rest of the week.

  2. #2 – I think I know that smell. It’s great.

#4 – There is no way that we’re the only ones out there. It’s a statistical impossibility. Thing is, we’re too busy fighting with each other to focus on building a spacecraft capable of finding them.

#6 – It’s been cool and rainy here. Not much in the way of thunderstorms, though.

  3. I enjoyed your answers. I can understand what you’re saying about the scent of summer. Sometimes there are just certain scents that can’t be explained. We are finally getting some nicer weather here in the PNW
