- Last night I was taking my son to the gym around 8:15 and our owl family was out and about. I may have mentioned there’s three of them. I assume it’s a family, as they are each a different size. The largest one was on top of our pool shed and he gave me the once over, where they bob their heads in a weird circular motion. Elliot thought he might attack us but nah. I wasn’t afraid.
- I went to the eye doctor to discuss my cataract options yesterday and it didn’t exactly go as I’d have hoped. There’s the free version covered by insurance that gives me monovision. i.e. I’ll have great distance but will need glasses for near. Then there’s one higher that seems better, in terms of retaining some close vision, and it costs about 550 per eye. I really only need one eye. Then there’s the one that, of course, they tried to sell me on, which is 3k per eye and this guy gave me his canned speech about it, which bothered me how practiced it sounded. I liked the doctor but also felt like he was a little too cocky and too quick to sell me on the implant. While I am sure they’re great, I don’t have an extra 6k laying around. I mean, I could have it but do I want to spend it now on this when I think the other options could be just fine? I think I’ll go with the 500 dollar option. It seems fine and honestly, my near vision is fine so when they tell me I won’t retain it, I just have my doubts.
- I was running a little later than I wanted to be for work today – I’m supposed to be here at 7:30 – and I was the first one by 20 minutes so it didn’t even matter!
- I do love summer in this town; fewer people, relaxed feel, and just a time to breathe a little. Though I feel like I’m still running around like crazy. Today, I have to pick up my daughter then she is back to her normal Dance time, and Ash is meeting a woman about an hour from here to buy some used golf clubs.
- We watched a 2011 movie last night called Take Shelter. At first I thought I had an idea of where it was going, then it seemed predictable that that was not, in fact, its trajectory. Let’s just say, it was pleasantly surprising and I recommend it.
- I am slowly working through copying every single entry I have ever crafted on WordPress. I thought there was a way to export them but found out that you have to pay and I’m just not willing to do that. It’s a very tedious project and could take me all summer, as I have been writing since 2006, but I’m determined!
- I was good yesterday: only keto food and no snacking at all. Today, however, I want nothing but carbs; I’m craving them. Which means I am having too many. That’s how the gut biome works: the more of something you eat, the more of it you want. And it works both ways. I need to get back to more meat and vegetable meals. It’s simple but good for you.
- OK, time to get some work done. Happy Tuesday!
Actually my cravings don’t disappear until I eat carnivore for a few days to a week. Carbs of any kind cause it to some extent.
Oh I agree it takes time; sorry if that wasn’t clear.
I enjoyed your “randoms.”
I always enjoy your random Tuesdays.
Food. I monitor every bite and still battle my weight. Okay, when you’re in your 70s your body does what it does.
Thank you for joining the Happy Tuesday Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Happy Tuesday. ♥
Funny how doctors recommend a $6K procedure like, “why not?”
Take Shelter looks good. Added to my list.
I export my posts and comments every week, but then I have a paid account.
I also pay but I have to have some kind of business account? I have contacted people at WP and they tell me I cannot. It’s frustrating.
Go to Tools > Export on the menu on the left. If you can get to the screen, you should be able to do the download. I have a personal server set up with Apache, PHP and MySQL on it, into which I’ve installed WordPress and add the new entries every week. That’s how I get the list of commenters on Sunay…
It exports to an xml file and I can’t seem to find a way to convert it to just text.
I think you’d need to write some code for that. Supposedly you can use a spreadsheet program like Excel to do it, but I’ve never tried.
Yeah I’m not able to do that. Oh well; copying it is!
