Friday Confessional

PhotobucketI confess… I was very bad this week about just eating whatever. I am pretty sure I hit that changing point where I truly realized I had to stop. I’m not half-marathon training so I clearly cannot eat this way. It’s back to fruits and trail mixes and counting more calories. And I am totally OK with this.

I confess… Due to the lack of sunlight this week, in the afternoons when the sun finally came out at brief intervals, I stuck my arms out my second floor office window and soaked in the Vitamin D. And it really did make a difference.

I confess… that though I have gotten accustomed to ordering books online or just reading them through the Kindle app, I STILL (and I have blogged entirely too much about this) miss going to Borders. It seems like every time I go to the CVS to get a prescription, the stark emptiness of the once-Borders next door just vaults me into a chasm of sadness… over a stupid bookstore! Still, I cannot help my fondness.

I confess… I am totally enthralled by SpikeTV’s Inkmaster show. I know I said this last week but I totally dig it. Also, Chris Nunez is a ttl hwt. (Yes, I meant horrible text speak.) The caption that goes along with the hilarious photo below is that basically, an artists creates in any environment. And you can’t deny that you haven’t had some brilliant ideas while on the pot!

I confess… I blogged a lot this week and did some new memes. Didn’t get many comments there but so it goes. They’re new anyway; it takes time.

I confess… I’m feeling a little cocky about my student today. Ian scored the winning shot for FSU’s basketball team last night. I like to think that any of his teachers have a hand in his success; if he doesn’t do his work, then he can’t play and win. πŸ™‚

Ok, that’s what I got today. Happy Friday!

  1. There’s just something about the feel and smell of a bookstore. There’s so much potential to stumble on the perfect book just because it catches your eye as you stroll through the bookstore.

  2. Ugh, I ate too much bad stuff this week yesterday we ate out twice!! I was feeling so sick afterward too…I must do better!

I’m the opposite..since I got a kindle I only read on that and I’ve read more than I ever have πŸ™‚ I’m lazy.

  3. So cool about your student! I totally watched the video. First, because I really, really love sports, and also because I like to post videos, and I appreciate when people take the time to watch what I share.

I have been eating like total crap lately, and have reached a turning point too. Today I’m on an awesome healthy role!

  4. I too really feel a sadness when I can’t go into the Borders up the street from me. 😦 Very, very sad. I like my e-reader, but I LOVE the feel and the smell of a book, and a bookstore!

I don’t blame you one bit for getting some sun any which way you can. I’m rowing that boat with you. The other day I found myself rolling up my sleeves just to get some more on the way to run an errand for my boss!

    1. The sun is very rare here, too. When it does decide to come out I run outside with the kids to soak it up while we can! Nothing beats the feeling of playing outside in the sun.

I am so bummed about Border’s; when ours closed down I teared up. I don’t have a Kindle or any other sort of reader deal.. So I have to stick to paperback or hardback. I also adore just walking down the aisles browsing book titles.

That’s AWESOME about your student Ian! Way to go!

  5. Stopping by from Mamarazzi’s link party.

I miss going to bookstores also. I have a Kindle and just use that. I keep looking at my bookshelves thinking how am I ever going to fill these again one day!

  6. OMG! That picture made me LAUGH OUT LOUD! That is hilarious!

I love reading on my kindle but I do miss reading a real book. I think I miss seeing how far I am in the book. And the smell. Is it weird that I like to smell the pages? Yeah, probably. I hope you had a great weekend!

  7. bummer about not getting many comments from the meme link ups. that sucks. i am digging that show too. i am kind of obsessed with tattoos….surprised?
