Random Tuesday – A/C is broken in my office edition

Stacy
Hey y’all. Welcome back after the holiday weekend. Are you ready for some random? I am!

  • For as many times as I have written about the fireflies, I haven’t seen any yet this summer.
  • We went to this new hippie grocery store the other night and not only is it almost exactly like our co-op, but the prices are 1-2 dollars more. However, if you shop their deals, it’s a lot cheaper. Weird.
  • I think I am finally over that funk I was experiencing. I feel a lot more like my normal self again.
  • For Ash’s birthday (today!) he wanted to go out but then decided he’d rather have Thanksgiving in July. On Sunday, I made a roast turkey, mashed potatoes, corn, and bread. Then we also had ice cream cake.
  • For a moment on Monday, the boys played together in a way in which I think they actually understood each other. Elliot was patient, Isaac didn’t get mad every time a toy wasn’t shared and it kept them busy for at lest 30 entire minutes. Amazing!
  • Two out of three dogs got new collars. We somehow misplaced Todd’s and Zoey’s fell apart.
  • Do your dogs like to lay at the base of your computer? Mine do. I guess because it’s really warm down there. Though, it IS summer… Weird animals.
  • I managed to revert to some semblance of a kitchen/living room on Monday; my house was exceedingly untidy.
  • How was your fourth? We didn’t do all that much. Cooked burgers around noon and ate them in the front before going in the pool. (We have a “party pool”; inflatable, fits all of us but barely.)
  • I seem to recall the sparklers of my childhood being different colors. I can’t seem to find those ’round here.
  • Also, I got carded at Target to buy chintzy fountains. I mean, come on. They barely even make noise.
  • We were watching the Saturday race and Ash suddenly decided he’d like to go to one sometime. For all those years he got on me for having used to go to NASCAR events, now he thinks it might be fun to see it in person. Ugh.
  • Do you ever lay in bed at night and think of all the ways people could break into your house? Unfortunately, I totally do this. Except then I think that if they ever broke into the living room, they’d take a look around at our junk and our massive old projection TV and say something to the effect of, “Is this some kind of sick joke?!”

Man Candy this week reverts back to those Brazilian boys who make such great models. This is Rafael Verga, and there were so many good pics, I had a hard time deciding. Happy Tuesday!

  1. Funny you mentioned Thanksgiving in July. I have been craving turkey, stuffing and all the fixings all week…

    Happy Random Tuesday!!

  2. Thanksgiving! Jealous!

My cat sleeps at the base of my computer all the time. Sometimes he steps on my surge protector switch. I think he just likes to lay at my feet since I don’t really let him on my lap when I’m on the computer. 🙂

And yes, every night I think someone is plotting to break into my apartment. Or my apartment is going to catch on fire. When I spend the night at my friend’s house I’m constantly anxious about fire. So paranoid!

  3. Just wait until the boys are older! Mine play together happily most of the day now, with a few breaks for cooling off. It also gets much easier to go places. Last night, they helped tote everything to the picnic site for fireworks viewing. So nice!!

  4. Even though I had to work, the 4th rocked (I think I said that once or a dozen times in my blog. Had to do with an ex but shhh) and I still got to see fireworks from my restaurant. Supa dupa!

  5. I remember the sparklers of my youth as way higher quality than the stuff I’ve seen these days. Maybe we just had a bad batch, IDK, but the sparklers I picked up for the girls suuuucked.

I think about break-ins a lot, too. We have an alarm system in place, but I still get unreasonably paranoid about it.

Glad you’re feeling better! Happy birthday to Ash, and Happy Tuesday~ 😀

  6. I was carded the the last time I was sick and went to Walgreens to buy DayQuil. “Are you serious,” I thought to myself. “I am only going to drink this shit because I have to.” If I need a buzz, I will grab a Newcastle, thanks.

  7. I’ve been noticing that we have a lot of fireflies this year. When I walk the dogs at night I love seeing all the twinkling lights. I try not to think of people breaking into my house at night because then I get worried and can’t get back to sleep.

    Thanks for stopping by today!
