Random Tuesday – Is my vacation here YET?

Stacy

As you can tell from my title, I am in desperate need of a break. It’s hot, I’ve not been sleeping well, and going to my parents’ house – though stressful – will still be really nice. Too bad it’s not until the weekend after next.

Anyway, get yer random on with Stacy. Go on!

  • I was a very good girl and omitted the pizza and cupcakes at the Saturday birthday party. Though at the Sunday one, I totally had a Coke and cake. Does it balance out because I ran afterwards?
  • I had a dream the other night that I was teaching and one of the grad TAs here was a student and he kept challenging me, basically pointing out how bad I was at teaching. It was so demoralizing I woke up all sad. Really made me not want to go to class on Monday.
  • Our local Groupon deals have been good lately! I got the Old Navy one (which was more than local) then one for a produce market. Love it!
  • It’s so hot out! 100 yesterday and not much better all week. I keep getting flashes of summer images in my head: brightly colored sprinkler on a green lawn, eating rapidly melting popsicles, beach towels, sandals, drinking from the hose. And yet, I haven’t really done any of these things because the heat makes me lazy and yearn for the dark indoors.
  • FINALLY read Hunger Games! And it was as good as everyone said, of course. Just started on Catching Fire but not very far into it.
  • Also finally got around to watching Get Him to the Greek which was, for all intents and purposes, one of the THE most random movies I have ever seen. Funny, crude and completely out there. But it also had a good story underneath it all. I liked it. (Stroke the furry wall!)
  • Elliot started swimming lessons yesterday and though I feared he’d run screaming from the pool in terror, he actually did pretty well. Had to watch all the other kids do each activity first but then he wanted to go. It makes a mom proud.
  • I bit the inside of my lip the other day and now I keep doing it, making it even more irritated. Grr.
  • Anyone following this Casey Anthony trial? I remember when it was big news in Orlando before but now it’s reaching epic proportions. She killed her kid. End of story.

Anyway, that’s what I got. Your Man Candy this week is model and soccer player Lance Parker. He has that square cut jaw and general manliness about him. Rawr. Happy Tuesday!

  1. It’s going to be stinking hot tomorrow here. I plan to go no farther than the pool out back with a jug of something frosty.

Bring the young lad. He will love it!

  2. Cupcakes and pizza are my weaknesses, you’re stronger than I am!

I saw the Old Navy Groupon deal and almost took advantage, but the closest one to us is about 40 minutes away…blah.

The Casey Anthony trial is something else, isn’t it? I wish I could stream it while I’m here at work, I’m interested in seeing the live action.

  3. What WERE you thinking? NEVER pass up a cupcake!
    Love the Man Candy!
Summer is just getting here and we don’t ever have humidity, but it does get hot. I hopeyour vacation comes quickly!

  4. Stopping by here , after you stopped by my blog! I made the mistake of watching Get Him to the Greek —the unrated version— with my 12 year old son earlier this year! Even he said, “Mom, I can’t believe that you did this!”! Hot, Hot weather here in FL! I’m in air conditioning right now!!!! Do you have a way of subscribing to your blog?

  5. I completely understand what you mean about seeing all the summer images but it just being Too HOT! I’m already over summer. Ready for pretty Autumn.

    Happy Tuesday!

  6. Ohhhhh! Mr. Man Candy is so delish looking I totally forgot what I was going to say…hold on, I need to go back and re-read your post so I can remember…

Oh yeah, I remember! It does totally balance out since you ran after the coke and cake – not to mention the sugar high probably helped you run more efficiently. 😉

It’s been freakishly hot here, too – sure zaps the energy and motivation to do anything.

OK, my mind keeps drifting back to the hunkacandy you have, so I better stop now while I’m ahead and don’t start babbling tons of nothing… 😉

Thanks for being a diligent rebel with me! 🙂

  7. I’ve gotta say, that man candy is pretty hawwwt. I remember just a short time ago complaining about the cold weather, now I’m complaining about the hot weather. I’ve heard lots of good things about The Hunger Games. I need to get around to reading them.

  8. Sorry I’m just now getting around to commenting.
