Pumping, Plans, and Procrastination

I’m glad everyone’s back from Blogher so there’s some actual content out there to read. Ok ok, I admit that I was thankful for those who didn’t go. We got to commiserate and pretend like we were at our own Blogher. So there, nyah.

So yes, the first order of business is that today was the first time since about January 6th that I have not lugged my big ol’ breast pump to and from work. I have reached a point where it’s no longer worth it. I used to get enough to feed him while at daycare. But it slowly dwindled until now, when I only pump between 1 and 2 ounces. And he’s eating A LOT more now. This just doesn’t cut it. I am still feeding him first thing in the morning and last thing at night but as for the daytime, he’s drinking formula. I knew it would come to this I just didn’t think it would be before a year. But, he’s a mere one month one week from a year so all in all, we’ve made a fairly good go of it so far. i tell you though, now that he’s only getting breastmilk twice a day, I think his immunities are lower. He’s got a cold today!

In October, Ash and I will celebrate our 3rd wedding anniversary. Tentatively, we are making plans to go to Chicago.Β  We’re going mostly for us to have some alone time but also to watch Uncle Elliot in this. Also, I’d like to go here and here. But we’ll play it by ear. I told Ash we should go here because I heard it was better than Ruth’s Chris. Again, it’s something to deal with later. For now, I am Craigslisting a mattress/box spring for 100 bucks that I am going to stow away for the steakhosue meal in Chicago. I am pretty excited because I have never been there and it looks like fun. Plus, BIL lives about 3 blocks from Wrigley Field and I definitely want to check that out. What will be the most awesome is that I’ll be done breastfeeding and my parents are going to watch the Boy. Grandparents rule!

By writing this entry, I have successfully put off grading student papers and getting ready for class. I work well under pressure/a time limit so for me to begin writing plans at 8:50 AM for an 11 o’clock class, well, it’s difficult you see. And on a Monday? You ask too much!

This entry brought to you by the letter P. P!

  1. Dude, I’ve been to Chicago numerous times but I’ve never been to the Millenium Park (I’ve driven by it) and I think I’ve only been to The Art Muesum once or twice and that was years ago. I have, however, been to Wrigley Field numerous times πŸ™‚ and it’s awesome.
