Do you know how much I need to accomplish today? I feel like it’s a lot; like an unimaginable amount of burden that I cannot begin to wade through. For starters, I’ve been slowly working on proofreading this huge-ass document but it is TEDIOUS. I am slogging through it but I feel like I’m stuck. Aside from that, I have about 15 letters to type up and print, then get ready for my boss to sign.
But enough about work. Let’s talk about rock climbing. In that, we’ve been going on Wednesdays again. And damn, if I am not totally out of shape/practice. It’s amazing how 15 months away from a physical activity renders you almost useless. The most annoying part is that I still know how to climb these routes. When you first start bouldering, the one thing you have to learn is the technique. There’s a way to climb the routes that is fluid and almost easy. Beginners tend to just muscle their way through problems just to finish. But really, if you know the ways in which to move your body, it becomes this zen thing, this accomplishable task. But my hands give out, my ab muscles tremble as I struggle to hold my body closer to the wall, to stay on these tiny foot chips while making the next move. I was worn out after about 3 or 4 V0 routes last night and that is really sad. However, I am really glad we are reintegrating this into our lives; it makes me feel really good about, well, everything.
A couple bits:
- David Cook? Really? Granted, he’s a lot cooler but Archuleta has a better voice. Please tell me American didn’t vote for Cook b/c a.) Simon didn’t call for him to win and/or b.) people are still miffed that Daughtry didn’t go all the way and they needed a “rocker”.
- I’m going to have to file down my nails before climbing next week; dammit.
- Ash is going out of town on Tuesday and my BIL and I plan on eating real food and drinking beer. Woot!
- Ash is going out of town in June too, and my BIL will be in Chicago on a trip. I’m going to be all alone with a 9 month old and 4 dogs. Holy cow!
- I love the band Ambrosia. Seriously, one of the best 80s bands.
- The Boy was ridiculously cranky this morning
- We’re seeing Indiana Jones at 9:15 tonight! Oh yeah.
‘Tis all for now; I’m going to work on all this crap and clean off my desk. In the meantime, head over to Zoot’s place and congratulate her on her new baby!
