Relax to the max

Last night, Ash and I finally used our one year anniversary gift at the place where we had our wedding reception. My parents, aunt, and grandparents bought us a one night stay in the King’s View room with the romantic package but we ended up moving into the Southern Grace room because it has a fireplace. We checked in around 7, settled into the room and had dinner at 8. Dinner was steak, baked potato, awesome corn and great rolls. We sat in the elegant dining room, candelight, romantic music and the one thing I noticed that I felt was… relaxed. No stress about whether Elliot was going to cry halfway through my meal. It was absolutely wonderful. It felt so great for someone else to make my meal and not have to even think about everything else I “have to do.”

After dinner, Ash and I retreated to our room where we indulged in the two person jacuzzi tub and enjoyed the romantic package goodies: champagne, strawberries and chocolate and bubble bath. The only unfortunate thing was that the gas fireplace must have had moisture in the 250 feet of piping and the innkeeper could not get it to light. Oh well; we still had a marvelous time.

I think we got into bed at 10:30, read our books and I was asleep the moment my head hit the pillow. It is unfortunate that, because I am breastfeeding, I had to wake up twice in the night to pump (lest my boobs explode) but I’m used to getting up anyway. In the morning, we took another bath and then went down for breakfast. Here’s the parlour/sitting area:

Here’s an antique toilet chair. Heh heh:pot-chair.jpg

In the middle, towards the back, is a yellow candle in a lacey cover. That was our reception gift. They keep one for each event that they host. Ahh, married two years ago and still going strong.

Ash is in Jacksonville tonight visiting some friends so my mother and I are making dinner then probably just watching TV. Again, more relaxing and I am ever grateful for that, let me tell you. How’s your weekend going?
