Got to admit it’s getting better

Elliot’s bilirubin number was down from 17.1 to 14 today, after only 12 hours on the machine. Normal time frame to cure the problem is 48 hours so it seems like he’s progressing pretty quickly. We spent a lot of time in the doctor’s office and the lab today; luckily tomorrow he only has to go to the lab and – hopefully – be checked for the last time. Feeding and changing him is a huge pain in the ass with this whole ordeal.

One thing I am noticing about having a newborn in the house is that I am easily sidetracked yet completely motivated. I was puttering about while Ash was out getting a haircut and I would do a little here and there and then sit down to do something on the computer and forget that I had clothes in the dryer or water running in the bathroom. It’s somewhat disconcerting to a person who’s normally really on the ball.

I have to go finish preparing the house as Ash’s father gets into town tonight. To tide you over, some baby.

  1. Claire, I saw you at Target today. In fact, I took your spot when you left:) I wish I had been two minutes earlier and could’ve caught you to say hi and tell you that your son is so adorable. This may sound so weird, but he already looks like a little person; he seems so full of emotion already (and that’s just from the pictures!). Glad you’re doing well!
