It’s ok; I was raised Catholic

This makes me a bad person (probably) but if I am behind a car that is exhibiting particularly bad driving habits and they also have one of those annoying Jesus fish emblazoned on the rear of said car, then I hate them even more and get infinitely more annoyed. I understand free speech. I get it. I want it. I don’t want that to be taken away from us. But these people are so frenzied by their religious zeal that they go to the trouble of putting this on their car. It’s more than a sticker; it’s almost… “bling”. It’s also sort of preachy. Not as bad as the van in the Best Buy parking lot last night that said something to the effect of “Hurting,? Call me at blank number for a personal prayer line.” Do people not see “scam” written all over that? Yeah, let me pay you to pray for me. Prayers are free, my friends.

But seriously, someone in traffic basically telling me how much they love god/want me to follow via this little metal fish with a cross for an eyeball can bite me.

  1. I’m totally with you! And I think I even had a “Jesus fish” on my car in high school until I realized people only put it there to be “cool,” strangely enough. And now I get particularly annoyed if I get cut off by a car with the fish and am, ironically, more likely to throw a four-letter word or two at them from the safe confines of my car, windows rolled up. I don’t think it makes you (or me) a bad person. I know in my case I’m probably just a little over-sensitive to the hypocritical. Funny though…
