Chugging along

I think I have that restless leg syndrome. I’ve always had a thing about shaking my legs. I remember being a kid and when we visited my grandparents, I always sat by my grandmother at dinner. She startled me each time her arm darted out to calm my endlessly shaky knees. I don’t know if it’s nerves or just something my body does while I work. Especially when I am busy at work – my legs just go go go and I feel more productive this way. But somehow I look at is as a negative for my body.

Anyway, been busy making lists for Summer, lists for Fall; keeping track of who is where and who is not around. It’s busy work but must be done. It’s good to stay on top of things. Soon, I get to send packets of important paperwork to all the incoming graduate students. And when they return it unfinished, I get to call them over and over until they get it right. What fun!

This morning was a good morning for music on XM. First I came across “Eye of the Tiger” by Survivor on the 80s station. Then The Blend was playing “Can’t Fight the Moonlight” from the Coyote Ugly soundtrack.  I turned over to the Sunny station and “Running on Empty” – Jackson Browne gave me yet another opportunity to belt it out in my car. That’s what I call a good morning drive to work. Usually if my day begins this way, I can keep the momentum going so that the whole day is pleasant. Geez, I’m awfully cheery for only mid-week aren’t I?

How’s your day going?

  1. So far so good–I’m hanging out at the library most of the day for my students to have a library work-day and for me to try to get ahead on some work. Instead of doing my work, though, I’ve watched the Lost Video Podcast and cruised blogs. I’m going to have to get to work soon, though.

  2. My huzzie has restless leg syndrome, and tried the drug for it. It didn’t work for him and just made him bitchy and sleepy. He said it’s gotten worse as he’s gotten older. The cure ? Cycling. I don’t think a doctor would write a prescription for that though…

  3. I seem to get restless during classical concerts its pretty embarassing. Not so good if you are a music student (which I wuz).
