Mundane Monday

RAIN. Real rain. “Well, we’ll be safe for now – thank goodness we’re in a bowling alley.”

Uh ok, sorry for that brief movie outburst. But honestly, it hasn’t rained in so very long. I imagine the millions of blades of grass in my yard all singing with the choirs of angels as the wet beads pelt down upon them. Imagine the singing flowers from Alice in Wonderland; yeah something like that is going on in my yard. Meanwhile, looks like a lot of people probably slept in/stayed home from class today; campus is pretty empty. Me, I’m more than happy to see rain. It will clear away some of this pollen that has been wreaking havoc on my immune system. There’s nothing like a vicious sneezing fit and going through half a box of Kleenex to make you hate nature and all its glorious infectious beauty.

The weekend was uneventful. I woke up Saturday feeling fabulous – I was in an absolutely great mood. So I left the house shortly before 8 AM, got gas, deposited some checks and picked up some bagels and coffee. I then washed my car – inside and out – and tidied up the house before Ash and I ran some errands. You know, the kind you put off like retuning an eight dollar item to Home Depot. So Saturday proved to be very productive for me. And yet, yesterday was such a waste of time. I was in a foul mood, didn’t feel like doing much of anything and I also sort of felt ill. I thought for a bit I might have been getting a cold. But I guess it may have been a preemptive reaction to today’s weather. There’s a tiny vise grip clamping down on the bridge of my nose. Yeah, it feels great.

So today, I have a lot of work to do. Just some random tasks to catch up on but enough to keep my busy. What did you guys do this weekend? Anything fun coming up for anyone?
