OK, somehow I found this site that details the lives of criminals. Well, I happened upon the site for the Columbine kids. I think it was a terrible tragedy but I don’t think the media can be to blame. I am going to post an excerpt they had from one of the kid’s journals. With the exception of the first sentence, I kind of agree with the kid:

“You know what I hate? Star Wars fans: get a friggin life, you boring geeks. You know what I hate? People who mispronounce words, like ‘acrost,’ and ‘pacific’ for ‘specific,’ and ‘expresso’ instead of ‘espresso.’ You know what I hate? People who drive slow in the fast lane, God these people do not know how to drive. You know what I hate? The WB network!!!! Oh … of God Almighty, I hate that channel with all my heart and soul.” – Excerpt from Eric Harris’ diary

Now, those things annoy me too… does that mean I’m going to shoot people at my school? No, not really. The WB annoys me almost as much as people who pronounce words like that. But I let it go and move on. I somehow think this kid probably did too and we can’t link his journal ramblings to a murder. I mean, if someone read my journals from high school – geez – would I seem like a psycho?
