Really, this entry is useless

Good morning to those of you still around doing work-related things. Seems like people are already taking weeks off of work – from the lack of traffic out there – and I am indeed the only person in the building right now. I am ok with this – I can handle sitting here, all alone, all day long, putting papers in manilla folders, stacking, filing, reading. I must just tell myself this: it is only for four and a half days. In that time frame, why don’t you set a goal? I’ll set a goal that I must write some non-fiction and it must reach at least 1500 words. That’s less than 10 pages so really, very reasonable.

The weekend was full but pretty fun; I got some Christmas shopping done, saw some friends, logged about 18-19 miles on the bike.  I’d say I was rather successful during those two days. Unfortunately, time does not stand still and it is back to the workweek once again.

The new desk girl begins today so it will be interesting to see how long she’ll last. If she has any kind of head on her shoulders – and if the rest of the office goes about business as they normally do – it won’t take her long to figure out why the last girl had a dilemma. What a mess.

I’m drinking Dutch Chocolate coffee this morning and I do believe it is time for me to check all my regular sites and then start doing something productive.

  1. I like the idea of being alone in the office, but I think that’s because I work in an office of smelly, blue-collar men. Would you like to switch?

And when I got to work this morning, our parking lot was also half full. I got my favorite parking spot in the back of the lot under a pretty tree.

  2. Well, if the weekends were longer, we’d just end up not appreciating them as much. It’s like if nothing bad ever happened, we wouldn’t know what good was and it wouldn’t be as great when it happened.
