Button up your overcoat

It was 31 with the wind this morning. Brrr. I left my phone in the car and had to turn around halfway to my building so by the time I got in here, my little fingers were numb. Did a lot of work early on but now it’s tapered off some. And it’s only 9 AM! But like I mentioned before, this is not so bad since today is *actually* like Thursday. I plan on taking my full hour lunch today and going to the pet store. I know they have time release fish food but do they also make it for Bettas? I don’t want mine to die but it’s not the food I worry about as much as it is the heat. It’s going to be about 65 in that house while we’re gone, I know it. Maybe a towel or blanket over the tank would insulate but they need the oxygen… I don’t know. It’s frustrating.

Registration opened up today for freshmen with the “normal” number of hours – i.e. those who have completed Summer and most of Fall, so my phone has been ringing constantly. Which is good. But also annoying because they cannot be expected to know what I know and the ways to explain it are not coming to me today. I feel like a total klutz with conversation today, which I don’t think any amount of caffeine will help; I’m not tired.

What I am is ready for a vacation. I am really looking forward to this trip south, to my parents’ homestead. I am imagining now how great it’s going to be to sit down to a huge turkey dinner, mashes, corn, yams, stuffing and the oh-so wonderful cranberry relish. I am also pumped about canoeing on Friday, shopping on Saturday (I’m gonna bust a huge wad of cash at Lush!) and just being away from school and work and the pressures of every day life.

What are your Thanksgiving plans?

  1. Ugh. Staying in town… 😦

To make matters worse, my family is coming in from everywhere and I’m not going to be there!!

    Can I cry now??

  2. Visiting the in-laws and getting behind on two seminar papers that I have to do (which I’m sure everyone is tired of hearing me talk about).

Talk to me
