Sunday Blues

I awoke feeling not so great about life but then I said to myself, “It’s still Sunday, still the weekend. Why are you letting yourself feel bad?” So I got up at 8, tended to the pups, made some tea, and now, I am thinking I will ride my bike up to the new Walgreens and buy a Sunday paper. Ash and I were talking about coupon clipping yesterday and I think I might start doing it. Why not? Good habit to get into when you start having a family.

Ash and I went to Longhorn last night (after the Tigers knocked the Yankees out of the series; woot!) and it was an interesting time. First and foremost, I am not too keen on Longhorn to begin with. They usually had crappy service, nasty tasting water, and I didn’t much care for the atmposphere. Well, as soon as we got inside, we noticed a big change: they had remodeled the inside. There was new slate tile, a more open dining room, and a classier look about the place. We were seated within 10 minutes and when we got our drinks, I bravely tasted the water: much better! I ordered the chop steak (something I NEVER order) because it had mushrooms and a “red wine bourdelaise” sauce, plus I got mashed potatoes: the perfect comfort food. I also got the lobster chowder in lieu of a salad. Well, apparently they were out of it and couldn’t make more so I got chili instead. However, when it came out, so did the manager who said it was his fault there was no more chowder and that he’d send a take home container of it with me for free. (Because they were going to make more.) Good deal! Well, the problems didn’t stop there as the next loaf of bread to come out had mold on it. Yes, mold! We tore that part off and kept eating but the manager came out again. He sat down beside me and said I could stab him with my knife if I felt like it. We laughed of course; we’re not those kind of patrons. We usually just say don’t worry about it. Anyway, he got us a fresh loaf and apologized. He seemed like a very nice, down to eath kind of guy. Well, the meal was quite tasty and I must say, Longhorn earned itself some brownie points last night.

Football at noon and our friend, who used to live here but then moved to NY, but once again lives in FL, is coming to watch as well. I’m not doing so hot and I am taking a few risks with my team this week, but in life, one must take risks. You never know what can happen.

Look below for some pics of our Boston-a-geddon yesterday. Nine BTs in one yard! It was totally insane, but really fun. Have a good rest of the weekend, guys.
