Do you ever have days where you are not quite here? Where you have nothing to do at your job and/or classes seem… distant; you are removed from the world somehow. I am having one of these days right this very moment; there is no work for me to do, no projects (ok there’s one but I am trying to drag it out as to keep msyelf somewhat busy) and not a single email has come thus far. I should read or walk or something, something other than waste time. Yet I sit here, waiting. Waiting for the world to come to me.

Think of it as life giving you a breather. You’ll be busy when folks start turning in their plagiarism assignments and when its time to plan spring classes, right? But yeah, yesterday was a day like that for me. I finished preparing for my seminar, actually reading every single word of the assignment (short readings), leaving only sketching out plans for teaching this morning. So, I sat around a good bit yesterday afternoon and last night. Did watch Monday Night Football, though.
I did too and was very glad to see Jacksonville win over the Steelers. It’s not that I dislike them – ok maybe – but I never cheer for the overall winner of a sport. I’m not a Heat fan, a Steelers fan, or a Yankees or RedSox fan – actually, I dislike baseball in general. But you get my point.
