Good morning, people. Let me start by saying that I have been in my office roughly one hour and 14 minutes but it feels like an eternity. This week is like hell on earth. What it really is, is Spring Break. I hope all those students are having the time of their lives out there, binge drinking, sleeping with random beach goers and contracting meningitis from drinking out of the same cup as 20 other intoxicated frat boys. Ok ok, I don’t wish that upon them; it’s just what they’re probably doing. The majority of them anyway. I never really did anything crazy for Spring Break. That’s just not who I am. I’m probably better off for it too.
The weekend was pretty fun; I can’t say I didn’t do a lot/get a lot done. On Saturday I did some laundry and we went to Roadhouse for lunch, even though I am really sort of sick of that place and not entirely thrilled about their food. Afterwards, we picked up a new toy for the pups:they love this thing! We also decided to take them to the dog park, which is probably their favorite pasttime. Todd gets to annoy dogs twice his size and Iggy and Zoey run around and flop at peoples’ feet to be petted. Good times.
Around 7, we headed to our friends Beth and Kelly’s, where we met up with the other dinner club couples to begin our night. First, we piled into a yellow stretch Hummer. (Which was awesome: fake fireplace, lights on the ceiling, bar with lots of glowy lights). We headed to Osaka for Hibachi – yum! and then to ABC before riding around town a while. We ended up at this sad pathetic place, where old people go to sing karaoke. I have no idea why we chose that place but it was pretty entertaining all in all. I’ll try to upload some pictures but most are kind of blurry because of the low light and/or flash was too bright. It sucked not being able to drink but I still had a good time.
Yesterday, 2 hours late, the Best Buy delivery men showed up with our new dishwasher. They called the night before and said the delivery window was between 8:30 and 10. So I got up and covered that shift but they still hadn’t come. I went back to sleep until 11:30 and they still hadn’t shown. So annoying. As was the entire installation process. While shopping for said dishwasher, we debated whether or not to install it ourselves or pay the 90 bucks. Really, I should have just foregone eating out a few times and splurged for installation; what a pain in the ass that job is! It took us roughly 3 hours but once it was done, I was extremely happy. Geez, I almost cried! But really, it was a combination of not having eaten, the pressure of installing, and just general pregnancy hormones. So, to ease the pain, we got pizza. I know, it’s terrible. But I also haven’t eaten it in months. But the salt of that meal combined with the Japanese from the night before made me thirster than I can ever recall being. All in all, I’d say my Sunday was just kind of “eh”.
I don’t have much planned for the day. Since no one’s around, I guess I can get some writing and reading done, as well as some office tidying. I look forward to Wednesday, when I have the day off and I’ll also be going in for my first ultrasound! Woo! That’ll be pretty exciting, as well as nerve-wracking. I’ll let you all know how it goes. So, what did you guys do this weekend?
